and devotes himself to communal needs,

I greet you and bless you,

We have duly received your letter of 7 Nissan*, with what was enclosed therein and I address to you, with the present letter, my response to this young man. If he needs additional explanations, you will surely find the fitting terms to provide them to him. Nevertheless, I am surprised by your letter, for you cite all the possible explanations with the exception of the one that should have been mentioned in the first place, that is to say the establishment of sacred studies throughout the entire day (note 2: This young man should integrate the Lubavitch Yeshivah of Melbourne and devote himself there to the study of the Torah throughout the day), especially since he himself is exempt from compulsory schooling (note 3: Having passed the age limit).

As I say in my response letter, which I enclose, may Hashem grant that he influence the other sons of Chassidim*, as well as the leadership of the Yeshivah* Ohalei Yosef Yitzchak* Lubavitch of Melbourne, so that all recognize the importance and the authenticity of such an organization, even if one may think that the moment to adopt it has not yet arrived in every place. In any case, it remains necessary to begin to commit oneself in this direction. With my blessing for a kosher and joyous festival of Pesach*,

ובודאי באם זקוק להסברה נוספת ימצאו אותיות מתאימות,

אבל מה שמפליא במכתב כת"ר - שמזכיר כל אופנים האפשרים לבד זה שצ"ל לכל לראש, ז.א. לימודי קדש כל היום כולו. וביחוד שנשתחרר הנ"ל מלימוד שהממשלה מחייבת.

ויהי רצון שע"ד הכתוב במכתב המענה המצורף, שישפיע הנ"ל על שאר בני אנ"ש, הנה ישפיע ג"כ על הנהלת ישיבת אהלי יוסף יצחק ליובאוויטש אשר במעלבורן, שגם הם יכירו בנחיצות ואמיתת סדר האמור, אפילו את"ל שלא בכל המקומות כבר הגיע העת לזה, אבל סו"ס מוכרחת ההתחלה.
