To the Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem,

Rav Yaakov (note 1: Rav Y. Bigun, of Brazil),

I greet you and bless you,

After a particularly long interruption, I have duly received your letter of 14 Tammuz* and, even after having read it, you will understand that I remain surprised by this long interruption. You describe to me the importance of this institution (note 2: The school Ohalei Yosef Yitzchak Lubavitch of Brazil). I am astonished that you have a doubt on this subject and that you pose such a question to me, especially in this period, after the favorable days of the festival of liberation of 12 and 13 Tammuz*. One knows, indeed, to what extent my father-in-law, the Rebbe, leader of Israel, gave of himself for education based on sacred values, including when this put his life in danger. How much more are attention and effort necessary in the matter, when one is in a place where one runs no danger, quite the contrary.

As I have said, all of this is therefore positive and important. In addition, the merit of what is public comes to your aid. Consequently, it is certain that you will effectively know success, quantitative and qualitative, on the condition of conducting your action with ardor and constancy. And, our Sages say that: "if you make efforts, they will be crowned with success." I address you my blessing to give me good news of all of this, with an addition both quantitative and qualitative, in joy and enthusiasm, within this sacred institution, Ohalei Yosef Yitzchak*, which you have had the merit and the success of creating in your city,

לאחרי הפסק הכי ארוך נתקבל מכתבו מי"ד תמוז, וגם לאחרי קריאת מכתבו מובנת הפליאה אודות ההפסק הגדול.

ולכתבו אודות נחיצות המסוד וכו', לפלא הספק והשאלה בזה. ובפרט בימים אלו, לאחרי ימי הסגולה ימי הגאולה י"ב וי"ג תמוז, שידוע עד כמה מסר נפשו הט' כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר נשיא ישראל על ענין החינוך על טהרת הקדש אפילו כשהי' בדבר סכנות נפשות ממש, ר"ל, ועאכו"כ ההשתדלות והיגיעה שצריכה להיות ולהשקיע בזה כשנמצאים במקום שאין בזה כל סכנה, ואדרבה.

וכיון שכאמור לעיל הענין טוב ונחוץ הוא, וזכות הרבים מסייעתם, בודאי שיהי' בהצלחה בכמות ואיכות, ובלבד שימשיכו העבודה בזה במסירה ונתינה, וכהוראת חז"ל יגעת ומצאת.

בברכה לבשו"ט בכל האמור ומההוספה הן בכמות והן באיכות, מתוך שמחה וטוב לבב, בהמוסד הק' "אהלי יוסף יצחק" שזכו והצליחו לייסדו במחנם הט',
