By the grace of Hashem,

To the attention of the participants of the Chassidic* gathering

of the luminous day of 18 Elul*,

may Hashem grant you long life,

I greet you and bless you,

I learned, with pleasure, of your Chassidic* gathering, on the occasion of the luminous day of 18 Elul*, date of the birth of the two great luminaries, the Baal Shem Tov* and the Admur HaZaken*. The great importance of a Chassidic* gathering is established, as my father-in-law, the Rebbe (note 1: See the Igros Kodesh of the previous Rebbe, volume 3, letter no. 784), explains in a letter cited in the Kovetz Tehillim*. How much more so is this the case on a propitious day such as this. And, it is known (note 2: See, below, letter no. 8582) that, each year, everything returns to its source and takes effect anew as the first time.

May Hashem grant that one of these lights illuminate your life and ours, within all of Israel, extending into thought, speech and action. Very soon, we will merit the fulfillment of the promise according to which: "your wellsprings (note 3: Of Chassidus) shall spread to the outside." Thus, "the master will come," the king Moshiach*. With my respects and my blessing that you be definitively sealed for a good year,

בנועם קבלתי הידיעה ע"ד התועדותם ביום הבהיר ח"י אלול, יום הולדת שני המאורות הגדולים, הבעש"ט ואדה"ז,

אשר נוסף על גודל ענין התועדות בכלל, וכמבואר במכתב כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר, נדפס בקובץ תהלים, עאכו"כ כשההתועדות ביום זכאי כהנ"ל, וכידוע אשר בכל שנה ושנה חוזרים הענינים לקדמותם ומתעוררים מחדש,

ויהי רצון אשר אור מאורות אלו יאיר בחייהם ובחיינו בתוככי כלל ישראל ועד למחשבה דבור ומעשה.

ובקרוב ממש נזכה לקיום היעוד דיפוצו מעינותיך חוצה וקאתי מר דא מלכא משיחא.
