To the Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself

to communal needs, Rav Yerachmiel (note 1: Rav Y. Blumenfeld, of Rio de Janeiro. See, regarding him, letter no. 6362),

I greet you and bless you,

I respond to your two letters of the first day of Chol HaMoed* Sukkos*, which I have just received, and I thank you for this good news (note 2: Of the state of health of the addressee of this letter). May Hashem grant that you go from better to better and that you be in a position, with tranquility of mind, to assume your mission, a sacred mission (note 3: That of teaching), the dissemination of traditional Judaism and especially of the wellsprings (note 4: Of Chassidus), within our schools, in general, through the channels that are the fear of Hashem and the love of Hashem, Precepts that are one (note 5: See, on this subject, letters no. 6730, 8263, 8630 and 8640) with the love of the Torah* and the love of one's fellow.

I have good hope that you were not content with the joy of the celebration of Beis HaShoevah* (note 6: The joyous celebration that takes place during Chol HaMoed Sukkos, commemorating the rejoicing of the Beis HaMikdash), of which you informed me, but that there were also other celebrations during the time of our joy (note 7: The festival of Sukkos), which means also, and even above all, for the students (note 8: The Rebbe specifies: boys and girls) and, more generally, for the young. The culminating point of these celebrations must have been Shemini Atzeres* and Simchas Torah*. Indeed, these days have a general bearing (note 9: See, on this subject, letter no. 8224), which concerns the entire year and imbues a true joy, the joy of the Torah*, the joy of the Mitzvah*, in each day of the year, for all that concerns the Torah* and the Mitzvos*, which must include all the activities of man, as it is said: "In all your ways, know Him." With my blessing to give good news,

במענה לשני מכתביו מא' חוהמ"ס שנתקבלו ז"ע,

ות"ח על הבשו"ט... ויהי רצון שתלך ההשתפרות הלוך והוסיף, ומתוך מנוחת הנפש יוכל להוסיף בהתעסקותו במלאכתו מלאכת שמים הפצת היהדות המסורתית ובעיקר הפצת המעינות ע"י המוסדות שלנו ובכללות ע"י צנורות של יראת שמים ואהבת שמים שחד הוא עם אהבת התורה ואהבת ישראל.

התקוה חזקה שלא הסתפק בשמחת חג בית השואבה שכותב, וערכו ג"כ עוד חגיגות במשך זמן שמחתנו, ובזה כמובן ועיקר עם התלמידים-ות שי' והנוער שי' בכללו וגולת הראשה בימי שמע"צ ושמח"ת, והרי ימים כללים הם לכל השנה כולה, וענינם להשפיע שמחה אמיתית שמחה של תורה ושמחה של מצוה במשך כל ימי השנה בעניני תורה ומצות שבזה צריכים לכלול כל עניני האדם ע"פ הציווי בכל דרכיך דעהו.
