To the Rav, distinguished Chassid who fears Hashem and devotes himself faithfully to communal needs, Rav Michoel [1], emissary of the Sages,

I wish you a good Yom Tov [2] of our liberation and the redemption of our soul.

I have just received your letter of Sunday of Parshas Vayishlach, with the request for a brachah accompanying it. Without making a vow, I will read it at the tziyun on the occasion of 19 Kislev.

You tell me in your letter that people wish to add to the name of our Yeshivah the name "Keser Torah." A precaution must be taken here. Indeed, the members of the committee concerning our Yeshivah are the same as those who were devoted to the previous Yeshivah. If the Yeshivah bears the same name as the previous one, there is every reason to believe they will consider it their own.

Furthermore, based on what you wrote me earlier, it seems that the administrative authorization granted to the Yeshivah is presented as the continuation of that of Yeshivah Keser Torah. Care must therefore be taken to preserve the spirit of my father-in-law the Rebbe's institutions — which is possible only if decisions are made by former students of the Yeshivah and by those who received the chinuch* given by my father-in-law, the Rebbe.

You have surely already written to Rav Sh. Matusof about the settlement visa for your country, in accordance with what I told you in my previous letter [3].

I may perhaps be able, in the coming days, to obtain a French translation of the letter I sent to Mr. Yosef Berdugo [4]. In any case, please confirm that he has received my letter and tell me whether anything should be added to it.

You will surely remind the Rav of Midelt [5] that he should send books [6].

זה עתה קבלתי מכתבו מיום א' וישלח עם פ"נ המוסגר בו, אשר אקראהו בל"נ על הציון בחג י"ט כסלו הבע"ל.

בנוגע לשאלתו במכתבו אשר רוצים שיהי' ג"כ השם כתר תורה מצורף לשם ישיבתנו, הנה מה שיש להזהר בזה הוא אשר כיון שחברי הועד שעשה בשביל ישיבתנו הם חברי הועד של הישיבה דמלפנים ואם גם בשם ישיבתנו יהי' מצורף שם הישיבה דמלפנים, אז יש מקום לחשש שינהגו בהישיבה כאדם העושה בתוך שלו, ובפרט אשר כנראה ממכתבי כת"ר שי' הקודמים, הנה גם רשיון הישיבה שלנו מהממשלה רוצים לקחת על יסוד הרשיון הקודם של הישיבה כתר תורה, וצריך בזה זהירות יתרה לשמור את הציור של המוסדות של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ, וזה אי אפשר אלא אם כן יהי' החלטת כל הענינים בידי תמימים ומחונכי כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ.

...בטח כבר כתב להרה"ג והרה"ח וכו' הר"ש שי' מטוסאוו בנוגע לבקשת רשיון הכניסה למדינתו עתה, מתאים למה שכתבתי לו במכתבי הקודם.

אפשר הדבר שימים אלה אשיג העתק בצרפתית ממכתבי למר יוסף שי' ברדוגא, ובכל אופן מטובו להודיעני מקבלת הנ"ל את מכתבי ואם נצרך עוד איזה הוספה לזה.

בטח יזכיר את הרב דמידלת שי' ע"ד הספרים.
