[Conclusion of letters addressed to the students of the Meknes Yeshivah, 17 Kislev 5711, through Rav M. Lipsker]

You ask whether you did the right thing by asking this craftsman if you could continue working for him. Since you have already signed the contract, there is surely in this an effect of divine Providence. But in any case, continue to look for work elsewhere, and in this matter too Hashem will guide you on the right path.

Perhaps this craftsman, when he learns that others are willing to give you a higher salary elsewhere, will increase the one he gives you.

You ask me about your work and tell me that you want to leave your employer. You do not indicate the reason, nor do you specify whether you have the means to set up on your own.

You should ask advice from the Rav, distinguished Chassid who fears Hashem, Rav Michoel. He will let me know his opinion, and then, without making a vow, I will write to you again.

You are surely making every effort to find a good shidduch*, and Hashem will grant you success.

You tell me that you are not yet married, and on this point you are surely making all the appropriate efforts. Perhaps it would be good for you to learn a new trade, which you can acquire quickly. Thus one can hope that you will earn a good living.

At first, you will look for work in your current trade, and you will address others with kindness. Thus Hashem will cause you to soon find a means of ensuring your parnassah*, and you will meet a shidduch suitable in every way, and be able to share good news in this regard.

You write me about your older brother. You tell me that he is already thirty years old and has not yet succeeded in getting married. You will convey to him that he must study Torah every day and especially on Shabbos. And he should look for a good shidduch with zeal.

He should remember the statement of our Sages that a man should be gentle with his wife, and the merit of the fixed time for study will enable him to find the woman suited to him.

If he adopts this conduct, Hashem will bless his union and grant him children.

מה ששואל אם טוב עשה שנתדבר עם האומן שלו להמשיך עבודתו אצלו, הנה כיון שכבר נעשה השטר בטח הוא בהשגחה פרטית, אבל, בכל אופן, אל יסיח דעתו מלחפש עבודה במקום אחר, והשי"ת ינחנו בדרך הישרה גם בזה, ואפשר אשר כשידע האומן שלו שרוצים לשלם לו יותר במקום אחר, אזי יוסיף לו על משכורתו.

במענה על מה ששואל בענין מלאכתו שרוצה לצאת מאומן שהוא עובד אצלו, הנה אינו כותב הטעם מפני מה רוצה לשנות מקום עבודתו, ואם יש היכולת בידו לעבוד לעצמו, אולי כדאי הדבר ויתיעץ בזה עם הרה"ח וו"ח אי"א נו"נ וכו' מוהר"ר מיכאל שי', ויודיעני חות דעתו, ואז, בלי נדר, אכתוב לו עוד הפעם.

בטח משתדל במרץ הראוי בחיפוש זיווג המתאים לפניו, והשי"ת ינחנו בהצלחה.

במה שכותב שעדיין לא נשא אשה, הנה בטח משתדל בזה במרץ הראוי. ואולי כדאי שילמוד אומנות חדשה שאינה דורשת זמן רב ללימודה ושיש לקוות שתהי' פרנסתו מצוי'. אבל מתחילה ינסה עוד הפעם בעבודתו עתה, ויהיו דבריו עם הבריות בנחת, ויהי רצון שיזמין לו השם יתברך פרנסתו בקרוב ממש, וימצא זיווג הגון לפניו בכל הפרטים, ויודיע בשורות טובות מזה.

מה שמזכיר במכתבו על דבר אחיו הבכור מר... שי' שהוא כבר בגיל שלשים שנה ולא הצליח בנשואין עד עתה, הנה ימסור לו, אשר יקבע לו שיעורים בתורה בכל יום יום, ועל אחת כמה וכמה ביום שבת קדש, וישתדל במרץ בחיפוש שידוך המתאים לפניו, ויזכור מאמר רז"ל אשר אשה הנהגת הבעל עמה צריכה להיות בניחותא, וזכות קביעות העתים לתורה יעזור לו למצא אשה המתאימה לפניו, ואם יתנהג באופן הנ"ל יתן השי"ת שיעלה זיווגם ליפה, זיווג קיימא, ויתברך בדור ישרים מבורך.
