By the grace of Hashem,

I greet and bless you,

You know the following verse: "If you walk in My statutes and observe My mitzvos and keep them, I will give your rains in their season" [1]. Rashi explains: "If you observe My mitzvos — by toiling* in Torah." My father-in-law, the Rebbe, emphasizes how essential this toil is.

One must therefore dedicate one's time and invest one's intellect in the Torah of Hashem. If one's concerns and the necessity of earning a living do not permit dedicating the major part of the day to study in a manner permitted by the Torah, one will nevertheless invest one's effort in it — and Hashem will be aware of this. He will therefore grant His blessing and "your rains in their season." Little by little, one will improve one's means of securing parnassah*. Thus one will be able, in ever-increasing measure, to devote oneself to Torah study, to fulfill the mitzvos, and to know advancement, materially and spiritually.

You will surely show generosity toward others and try to bring them to participate in your Torah study. I will be happy to learn that your situation is improving, that you are progressing in your study, and that the number of students participating in your classes is growing.

With my blessing for success in Torah study, in the fulfillment of mitzvos, and for a good understanding of Chassidus*,

...ידוע המקרא אם בחוקותי תלכו ואת מצותי תשמרו ועשיתם אותם ונתתי גשמיכם בעתם וגו', פירש"י ואת מצותי תשמרו - הוו עמלים בתורה, וביאר כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ אשר העיקר הוא העמל בתורה, היינו שמקדיש מזמנו ומייגע את שכלו לעמול בתורת ה', ואף אם מפני עניניו - מפני דוחק הפרנסה וכו' - על פי דינה של תורה אין בידו ללמוד רוב שעות היום, בכל זאת בראות השם יתברך ויתעלה אשר עמל הוא בתורה, אזי נותן לו ברכתו ונתתי גשמיכם בעתם וכו', ומזמן לזמן הולכת פרנסתו הלוך וטוב, ובמילא מזמן לזמן יש בידו להוסיף בלימוד התורה וקיום המצות והולך הוא מחיל אל חיל, הן בגשמיות והן ברוחניות.

בטח עיניהם טובה גם בשל אחרים ומשתדלים לצרף אותם בלימודי הקדש, ואשמח להוודע ממנו מהטבת מצבו בכלל, מעשותו חיל בלימודיו ומהגדלת מספר התלמידים הלוקחים חלק בשיעוריהם.

בברכת הצלחה בלימודו בתורה ובקיום המצוה והבנה טובה בתורת החסידות.
