I bless you and greet you,
You (note 1: This letter is addressed to a woman) write to me (note 2: See, on this subject, letter no. 8311) about the installation of the tombstone (note 3: See, on this subject, letter no. 7605). If no particular custom is observed in the family, it is appropriate to place it as soon as possible, as various works specify. I address to you my blessing, in conformity with the teaching of the days of Chanukah*, which are approaching. Indeed, from sunset, one lights a candle, then, subsequently, one adds light, from day to day. May it therefore be so in what concerns you, as the beginning of the letter stated. With my blessing to give good news,
