To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem, Rav Yitzchak (note 1: Rav I. Kasovski, of Chicago),

I greet you and bless you,

After an interruption, I received, with pleasure, your letter of this Thursday, but I am surprised that you say nothing to me about the day of the Hilloula* of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, leader of Israel, the tenth day of Shevat*. No doubt you marked the importance of this propitious day, by strengthening the study of the teaching of the one whose Hilloula* we celebrate and the adoption of his practices. I was satisfied to learn of the success of the action you carried out for Cholov Yisroel* (supervised milk), in your city, in particular according to the well-known account (note 2: See, on this subject, letters no. 6017 and 7286) of our masters and leaders, emphasizing how necessary it is to fortify the faith. Indeed, milk milked by a non-Jew, in the absence of a Jew, arouses doubts in the faith, which Heaven forfend, this is quite evident.

May Hashem grant that you have complete success in all of this. The merit of the public cause comes to your aid, as well as to all those who direct their efforts in this domain. With my blessing to give good news of this, as well as of what concerns you, on a personal level,

P.S.: You ask me (note 3: See, on this subject, letter no. 4788) about the moment of the haircut of your son, to whom Hashem will grant long days and good years, his (note 4: Third) birthday being on the eve of Pesach*. It is not good to postpone it. It will therefore take place on the evening, eve of the 14th (note 5: Nissan*) or during the day preceding Pesach*.

לאחרי הפסק נעם לי לקבל מכתבו מיום החמישי,

ולפלא שאינו מזכיר אודות יום ההילולא של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר נשיא ישראל, עשירי בשבט, שבטח צוין על ידו יום סגולה זה ע"י הוספה בלימוד תורת בעל ההילולא והליכה באורחותיו וכו',

ונעם לי להודע מהצלחת פעולתו בהנוגע לחלב ישראל במחנם הט' ובפרט ע"פ סיפור הידוע מרבותינו נשיאינו, איך שחלב ישראל דוקא נוגע לחיזוק האמונה, וחלב שחלבו עכו"ם ואין ישראל רואהו, מביא ח"ו לספיקות באמונה, וק"ל.

ויהי רצון שתהי' הצלחה מלאה בהאמור וזכות הרבים מסייע אותו וכל אלה המשתדלים בזה.

בברכה לבשו"ט בהאמור וגם בעניניו הפרטים.

נ. ב. לשאלתו אודות זמן תספורת בנם שליט"א שיום הולדתו בערב פסח.

אין כדאי לדחות לאחר זמן, כי אם לעשות התספורת בליל אור לי"ד או ביום ערב פסח.
