After a particularly long interruption, I have duly received your letter of 20 Shevat*, with what was enclosed therein. You will understand that I am astonished and surprised to observe that you have not written to me for so long and that, this time, you are so brief, of such great conciseness. No doubt you will complete all of this at the next opportunity and may Hashem grant that your letter not be only detailed news, but also good news, rejoicing in all their aspects. Indeed, the merit of the public cause comes to your aid and, in fact, my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, invokes the immense mercy of Hashem so that you have increased success, in this matter.

I am also surprised that you make no mention of the visit of the person who came here. No doubt she transmitted to you at least the content of our exchange. With my blessing of success in your sacred mission and to give good news of all of this,

לאחרי הפסק הכי ארוך, נתקבל מכתבו מכ' שבט עם המצורף אליו, ומובנת הפליאה והתמי' על העדר הכתיבה זמן ארוך כ"כ, וגם עתה מקצר בהענינים ועד לקיצור נמרץ, ובטח ימלא בהזדמנות הבאה.

ויהי רצון שמכתבו יהי' לא רק ידיעות מפורטות אלא גם טובות ומשמחות בכל הפרטים, והרי זכות הרבים מסייעתם, וכ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר מעורר רחמים רבים לתוספת הצלחה בהאמור.

לפלא שאינו מזכיר בהנוגע לביקורו של מר... שי' כאן - שבטח מסר, עכ"פ תוכן, המדובר.
