To those who frequent the synagogue Anshei Lubavitch

of Passaic (note 1: New Jersey, United States),

may Hashem grant you long life,

I greet you and bless you,

I obtain your news with pleasure, through the Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs, Rav Aharon Moshe Babroyski. He also transmitted to me your participation, for which you will find enclosed a receipt. The Sidra* of this week (note 2: Parshas Terumah*) begins with the following divine Injunction: "This is the offering that you shall take from them, gold..." and the Midrash*, Parshas Terumah*, at chapter 35, explains, on this subject: "Rabbi Shimon Ben Lakish* teaches: The world was not worthy of having gold. Why was it created? For the Sanctuary and for the Temple."

This means, in an allusive manner, that by giving gold for a cause linked to the Torah* and the Mitzvos*, one obtains that it appear in the world. It will therefore be so for all those who participate in Tzedakah*. The blessing of Hashem will thereby be increased in all that one gives and in all domains, in general. קבלה.

ולפי פרשת השבוע ,שתחילתה ציווי השי״ת ,וזאת התרומה אשר

תקחו מאתם זהב וגו׳ ,מובא במדרש )תרומה פ׳ ל״ה( המאמר אמר רבי

שמעון בן לקיש לא הי׳ העולם ראוי להשתמש בזהב ,ולמה נברא בשביל

המשכן ,ובשביל בית המקדש.

הרמז -כוונתו היא ,שכאשר נותנים זהב לעניני תורה ומצות מוריד

הדבר זהב לעולם.

שכך יהי׳ לכל אלו שתורמים לעניני צדקה ,שיתוסף בברכה מהשי״ת

במה שנותנים ובכל עניניהם בכלל.
