Igrot Kodesh · Letter 8347 — Health

Volume 22 · Letter 130

By the grace of Hashem,

3 Adar Rishon* 5722,

Brooklyn,

To Mr. Shimon (note 1: Mr. S. Altman),

I greet you and bless you,

After a particularly long interruption, I was satisfied to have your news through the Rav, having good conduct, full of eagerness, Pesach* Bogomilski (note 2: Rav Shmuel Pesach* Bogomilski, of New Jersey, United States) and to receive your letter. At the end of it, I read, with particular pleasure, the mention of the coming arrival of our righteous Moshiach*. All of this causes me to hope that you hold yourself ready and that you act in the manner that is fitting in order to go toward our righteous Moshiach*.

Of course, to welcome the Moshiach*, it matters not how many dollars one has in one's pocket and how many houses one will leave in exile. Only the Jewish heart, the Jewish head, the hands must be taken into account. In other words, the intellect must be penetrated with the study of the Torah*. The feeling must manifest itself for the Torah* and Jewish values and daily action must be conducted in the spirit of our Torah*, Torah* of life and according to its teachings. One can verify, in the clearest manner, that by deciding, with the greatest firmness, to adopt the conduct that has just been described, one finds that this is much easier than what one imagined. Moreover, one can do it in good health, in good humor and joy. With my blessing to give good news of all that has just been said and in greeting all your friends, the good friends in your city, to whom Hashem will grant long days and good years,
