By the grace of Hashem,
26 Adar Rishon* 5722,
Brooklyn,
To the Rebbetzin* Fruma Itta (note 1: Mrs. F. I. Simpson, of Brooklyn),
I bless you and greet you,
Your letter has been transmitted to me and, in addition, I obtain news of your condition more often, through your son, the Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem, Rav Shalom Mendel (note 2: Rav S. M. Simpson, secretary of the Rebbe*). Finding myself, these days, near the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit will protect us, I mentioned your name once again, so that the wish of your heart be positively fulfilled, in all the domains you cite. You and your husband, the Rav Shlita* (note 3: Rav Eliyahu Simpson, of Brooklyn), have had the merit of receiving personally many blessings from my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, leader of Israel. Now, the blessings of the Righteous, in particular of the leaders of Israel, are immutable and they exert their effect permanently. The same therefore applies to what is said above.
May Hashem cause it to be so, in a concrete manner, that you be able to announce to me good news, with good morale and in joy. We are in the period of the months of Adar* (note 4: Adar Rishon* and Adar Sheini*), in which we have been commanded to multiply joy, to increase it from time to time. And, the strength to achieve this has been granted to every man, to every woman. This is the answer to the question you pose to me: what must you do concerning all of this? You must therefore put into practice the teaching of our Sages (note 5: Who teach to multiply the joy) which consists of multiplying joy. Thank Hashem, you have very many reasons to rejoice, including at the present time. And, one must hope that in the future, there will be many more. Of course, simultaneously, you must conform to the prescriptions of the physicians who are treating you. Indeed, a physician of flesh and blood is the emissary of the One Who heals all flesh and performs wonders. With my blessing to give good news, for a joyous Shabbos* and for a joyous month,
