By the grace of Hashem,

I greet you and bless you,

I respond to your letter, in which you write to me that, until this day, you have not known success in your work and in the domains in which you invest yourself. As our Torah*, Torah* of life, explains, one of the counsels that can be given (note 1: See, on this subject, letter no. 8279), in this matter, is the following. Each weekday morning, before putting on the Tefillin*, you will set aside a few coins for Tzedakah*. Subsequently, you will pray, with an upright heart, to the Creator of the world and of man, Who directs him.

Of course, this must be inserted into a global conduct which, on a daily basis, will be in conformity with the instructions of our Torah*, Torah* of life. When you have made the decision to act in this manner and begun to do so, I have good hope that your Mazal* will evolve positively, even though no one can know whether this will occur immediately, or after a short delay. This also depends on the intensity of your faith, of your trust in Hashem, Who nourishes the entire world in His goodness, with grace, beneficence and mercy, according to the text of the blessing (note 2: Following the meal) instituted by the members of the Great Assembly. The more you strengthen this trust in Hashem, the more rapid and abundant this blessing will be. But, first of all, you must have your Tefillin* checked and assure that they are valid.

I await good news of all of this. We are, indeed, in the month of Adar*, that of success for the Jews, in all that concerns them, as it is said: "For the Jews, there was light, joy, gladness and honor." You will consult the commentary on this verse in tractate Megillah* 16b. With my blessing that you give me good news of all of this,

במענה למכתבו בו כותב אשר עד עתה לא הצליח בעבודה ושענינים שניסה לעסוק בהם, ושואל דרך בזה.

וע"פ המבואר בתורתנו תורת חיים מהעצות היעוצות בהנוגע להאמור, אשר בכל יום חול בבקר קודם הנחת התפילין, יפריש פרוטות אחדות לצדקה, ולאחרי כן יתפלל בלב שלם לבורא עולם יוצר האדם ומנהיגו.

כמובן הכוונה שיהי' זה בתוככי כללות הנהגה מתאימה בחיי היום יומי, כפי הוראות תורתנו תורת חיים, ולאחרי החלטה להתנהג כאמור והתחלה בזה, תקותי חזקה שישתנה מזלו לטובה אף שאין אתנו יודע עד מה, אם יהי' זה תומ"י או לאחר משך זמן קצר, וגם זה תלוי בתוקף אמונתו ובטחונו אשר השי"ת הוא הזן את העולם כולו בטובו בחן ובחסד וברחמים כנוסח הברכה שתקנו לנו אנשי כנסת הגולה, וככל שיוסיף בבטחונו תוקדם הברכה ויתוסף בה.

אלא שמתחלה צריך לבדוק התפילין שלו ולדעת ברור אשר כשרות הן.

ואחכה לבשורות טובות בהאמור והרי נמצאים אנו בחדש אדר, חדש הצלחה ליהודים בכל עניניהם וכמה שכתוב ליהודים היתה אורה ושמחה וששון ויקר, ועיין פירוש כתוב זה במסכת מגילה דף ט"ז ע"ב.
