By the grace of Hashem,

5 Nissan* 5722,

Brooklyn, New York,

I greet you and bless you,

You inquire, in a specific manner, about the art and manner of educating your children. The Rebbe* Shlita* gave, on this subject, the following response:

"No doubt you are doing all (note 1: The Rebbe* underlines the words: 'all,' 'each,' 'obviously,' 'obligated,' 'free,' and 'evil inclination') that is in your power, in this domain. Above all, each (note 1) of them must be the student of a school where the fear of Hashem is as intense as possible. Obviously (note 1), it is out of the question to send them to public school, as you mention in your letter. You claim to be obligated (note 1) to do so. May Hashem guard and preserve you from expressing yourself thus! You possess free (note 1) will and, even if the evil inclination (note 1) wishes to compel you, the Holy One, blessed be He, will come to your aid, on condition that you desire it."

... לבקשתו המיוחד אודות דרך ואופן לגדל את יו"ח שיחיו וכו', הואיל כ"ק אדמו"ר שליט"א לרשום

"בודאי עושה כל התלוי בו בזה. ולכל לראש - שלומדים כאו"א במוסדות חינוך שמדת היר"ש בהם במדה הכי גדולה. ופשיטא - שלא בפובליק סקול וכיו"ב (שמזכיר בהפתקא).

ולכתבו בה שנאלץ לעשות כן - ח"ו וח"ו לומר כן. ובחירה חפשית בידו. ואף שיצה"ר רוצה לאלצו - הקב"ה עוזרו, באם ירצה הוא בזה".
