Igrot Kodesh · Letter 84 — Publications, Outreach, and the Direct Link Between Spreading Torah and Moshiach

To the great Rav, eminent and pleasant, Rav Z. HaLevi,

I greet you and bless you,

I have received your letter and you will find enclosed a receipt for two dollars corresponding to your donation for Machaneh Yisrael.

The donations for the Yeshiva and the Kollel* Chabad have been transmitted to them and these organizations will themselves send you a receipt.

Some time ago, we sent your sons membership cards for the Mishnah by heart group and they have no doubt received them.

I would like to propose that you also take part in the other activities of Machaneh Yisrael and the Merkaz LeInyonei Chinuch*.

It seems to me that you are perfectly suited to lead such action, particularly in two domains:

A) You can ensure the distribution of the compilations and discourses printed among all those you contact and to whom you will explain the great importance, the possibility of awakening in them a feeling of Teshuvah and fear of Hashem, especially in the present period of Ikvesa diMeshicha*. The letters of my father-in-law, the Rebbe Shlita, printed in the second compilation, explain that immediate Teshuvah can bring about immediate redemption.

B) Your sons can also participate in the distribution of these discourses and the conversations with the youth, in Yiddish and in English, which address Jewish children and contain articles that bring them closer to the Torah and Judaism.

The price of these compilations, discourses and conversations is very affordable, so that whoever is interested will surely want to buy them. It suffices therefore to find someone who will want and be able to explain the content of these discourses and compilations to all those who do not yet have knowledge of this beneficial light.

You surely know the explanation of the Alter Rebbe* [1] on the verse "Hashem prepares the steps of man." When a Jew arrives in a place, it is surely for a precise purpose — to accomplish a Mitzvah, toward Hashem or toward another person. A Jew is the emissary of Hashem who, wherever he may be, receives the strength of the One who delegates him.

In one of his letters, my father-in-law, the Rebbe Shlita writes: "The love of the Holy One, blessed be He, for our father Avraham is justified essentially because he bound his children and his household to Hashem. Thus, the immense accomplishment he achieved by overcoming the trials he faced is in no way comparable to this bond, to the good he bestowed upon others."

With my blessing of immediate Teshuvah, immediate redemption,

הנדבה להישיבה ולכולל חב"ד נמסר להם, ובטח יושלח לו קבלה ישר מהם.

כרטיסי חבר לחברת משניות בע"פ נשלח זה מכבר לבניו שי', ובודאי הגיעם במועדם.

הייתי מציע לכת"ר להשתתף גם בשאר עניני "מחנה ישראל" וה"מרכז לעניני חנוך".

ואשר אדמה אני אשר בנקל ביכולת כת"ר לפעול בהנ"ל בפרט הוא בשתים: א) הפצת הקונטרסים והשיחות שנדפסו - בין כל אלו שיש לו השפעה עליהם ע"י הסברת גודל ערכם בהתעוררות לתשובה ויר"ש, ובפרט בזמן הזה עקבתא דמשיחא, ומבואר ענין לאלתר לתשובה לאלתר לגאולה במכתבי כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר שליט"א הנדפסים בקובץ מכתביו השני.

ב) לראות שגם בניו שי' יפיצו שיחות הנ"ל וה"שמועסן" - באידיש

ובאנגלית - הנדפסים בשביל ילדי וילדות בנ"י ותוכנם ענינים המקרבים את הילדים לתורה ויהדות.

המחיר של הקונטרסים שיחות ו"שמועסן" הנ"ל מצער היא, והמתענין בהם בודאי ירצה לקנותם. והכל תלוי בזה שימצא איש שירצה וידע איך להסביר תוכן השיחה או הקונטרס לאלו שאין יודעים עדיין מהאור כי טוב הוא.

ובודאי ידוע לכת"ר תורת אדמו"ר הזקן ע"פ מה' מצעדי גבר כוננו וז"ל: אז א איד קומט אין א ארט, איז עס צוליב א כוונה טאן א מצוה הן א מצוה שבין אדם למקום והן א מצוה שבין אדם לחבירו, א איד איז א שליח של מעלה, א שליח וואו ער איז, איז ער דער כח המשלח.

וכ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר שליט"א כותב בא' ממכתביו: מצינו דעיקר חיבתו של הקב"ה לאברהם אע"ה הי' למען אשר יצוה - כפירושו - יחבר - את בניו ואת ביתו, היינו דכל גודל עבודתו בהנסיונות אינו בערך לגבי הא דיצוה ויחבר אחרים, מה שיזכה אחרים.

בברכת לאלתר לתשובה לאלתר לגאולה.
