president of the association of the masters of Chassidus*,

I greet you and bless you,

I received, with pleasure, your telegram. I thank you very much for your wishes and your blessings, on the occasion of my birthday (note 2: 11 Nissan*). Whoever blesses is himself blessed, as it is said: "I will bless those who bless you," with the interest of Hashem, which surpasses the capital. You will also consult the Chassidic* discourse entitled: "Rabbi Yehoshua Ben Levi," at the beginning of the Sefer HaMaamarim* 5629 (note 3: 1869) of the Rebbe Maharash*.

On the occasion of the festival of Matzos*, time of our freedom, which approaches, for us and for all of Israel, for good, I express to you, by the present letter, my blessing for a kosher and joyous festival, for true freedom, freedom from material worries and from moral worries, from all that constitutes an obstacle to the service of Hashem, in joy and enthusiasm. This freedom and this joy will extend over all the days of the year. Moreover, the service of Hashem, as our Torah*, Torah* of life, commands, concerns all the domains of man, throughout the day and the night, as it is said: "in all your ways, know Him." ולקראת חג המצות, זמן חירותנו, הבא עלינו ועל כל ישראל לטובה, הנני בזה להביע ברכתי לחג כשר ושמח ולחירות אמתית, חירות מדאגות בגשם ומדאגות ברוח - מכל דבר המעכב עבודת ה' בשמחה ובטוב לבב.

ולהמשיך מחירות ושמחה זו בימי כל השנה כולה.

ובפרט שעבודת השם, כמצווה עלינו בתורתנו תורת חיים, הרי היא בכל עניני האדם ובמשך כל היום וכל הלילה, וכמו שנאמר בכל דרכיך דעהו.
