Igrot Kodesh · Letter 8406 — Faith & Bitachon
Volume 22 · Letter 189 · To: femmes ‘Habad
By the grace of Hashem,
30 Nissan* 5722,
1st day of Rosh Chodesh* Iyar*,
Brooklyn, New York,
To the women of Chabad*, branch of Crown Heights
and of Brownsville, may Hashem grant you long life,
I bless you and greet you,
It is with pleasure that I received your participation in the Maos Chittin* (note 1: The Tzedakah* destined to satisfy the needs of Pesach*) for the Holy Land, may it be restored and rebuilt, as well as the list of participants. May Hashem cause this merit to protect each of them, with the members of her family, in all their needs. One Mitzvah* draws another and that of Maos Chittin* will instill in you forces to continue the action of the women of Chabad*, in increased proportion and in all domains.
It has been emphasized many times, in writing and orally, in particular at Acharon Shel Pesach*, during the meal of our righteous Moshiach*, that Jewish women have an immense responsibility and a great merit, not only toward themselves and the members of their family, but also toward the entire people of Israel. The women of Chabad*, in particular, receive a specific mission and role. They must illuminate their surroundings with the clarity and the warmth of Chassidus*, the Chassidic* ways and the Chassidic* sentiments. May Hashem grant good to all and to each one in particular, by the Attribute of the Holy One, blessed be He (note 2: According to the Midrash* on the verse Shemos* 3, 6), which is "measure for measure" (note 3: In the manner in which one acts toward Him), but in widely increased proportion, both materially and spiritually. With my blessing,
