communal needs, Rav M. Weksler,[1]

I greet and bless you,

I learned with satisfaction that a special conference is being organized this Wednesday, at your home, with the participation of Mr. Ben Flet and other important personalities, in order to lay the foundations of concrete aid on behalf of Merkaz L'Inyonei Chinuch.

For ten years already, Merkaz L'Inyonei Chinuch has been carrying out a broad educational activity, in this country and practically in every corner of the earth. This fundamental accomplishment is achieved without a noisy campaign, because it benefits from the support of important personalities who know how to appreciate it at its true value. My father-in-law, the Frierdiker Rebbe, personally covered a large part of the budget of Merkaz L'Inyonei Chinuch.

Then, after the histalkus* of my father-in-law, the Frierdiker Rebbe, the situation became critical, to the point of calling into question the very existence of this institution. Nevertheless, its activity is fully maintained, because such was the will of my father-in-law, the Frierdiker Rebbe. Moreover, circumstances have made necessary an extension of its activity in North Africa, where we have created a school network for children and youth, bearing the name of the founder, Ohalei Yosef Yitzchak.[2]

It is impossible to describe the considerable merit constituted by taking part in this work of illuminating Jewish hearts and Jewish homes, by the clarity and warmth of our holy Torah and the Mitzvos*.

The festival of Chanukah that we are currently celebrating must inspire us with concrete actions. The situation is very critical, and we have very little time. We hope that good and fruitful results will flow from this conference, in a concrete manner. And I hope to receive good news from you.

My father-in-law, the Frierdiker Rebbe, continues to direct this institution and he will therefore surely grant his blessing to you and your family, as well as to all those who take part in your action on behalf of Merkaz L'Inyonei Chinuch.

May Hashem satisfy all your needs, personal and communal, in particular those that are on behalf of Merkaz L'Inyonei Chinuch. May He grant you health and material prosperity.

שימח אותי לשמוע אודות אסיפת המומחים בביתו נשתתקיים[ ביום

רביעי הבא בהשתתפות מר בן שי׳ פלט ועוד בעלי בתים חשובים ,כדי ליצור

בסיס לסיוע ממשי ל״מרכז לעניני חינוך״.

זה כבר עשר שנים שה״מרכז לעניני חינוך״ מנהל את עבודת החינוך

המסועפת שלו כאן במדינה וכמעט בכל פינות העולם .העבודה החיונית הזו

מתנהלת ללא מבצעי פרסום רועשים ,כי יש לה סיוע מאישים אחראים

היודעים כיצד לתמוך בעבודה זו .כ״ק מו״ח אדמו״ר זצוקללה״ה נבג״מ

זי״ע הכ״מ דאג בעצמו לחלק גדול מהתקציב של ה״מרכז לעניני חינוך״.

אך לאחר הסתלקות כ״ק מו״ח אדמו״ר הכ״מ נוצר מצב קריטי

המסכן את כל קיומו של המרכז לעניני חינוך .מצד שני ,ביודענו את רצון

כ״ק מו״ח אדמו״ר הכ״מ ,העבודה נמשכת במלוא היקפה .התנאים גם

דרשו להרחיב את העבודה בצפון אפריקה ,שם יסדנו שורת מוסדות חינוך

לילדים ונוער על שמו של המייסד הגדול -״אהלי יוסף יצחק״.

לא ניתן לתאר את הזכות הגדולה של השתתפות בעבודה הקדושה

להאיר לבבות יהודיים ובתים יהודיים באור וחמימות של תורתנו הקדושה

ומצוותי׳ .וחג החנוכה שאנו חוגגים כעת ,בהחלט צריך לתת לנו השראה

למעשים בפועל .המצב מאד קריטי ,הזמן מאד קצר .אנו מקוים שהאסיפה

תביא תוצאות טובות ומשמעותיות בפועל ממש .ואקוה לשמוע ממנו

בשורות טובות.

כיון שכ״ק מו״ח אדמו״ר הכ״מ מנהל גם הלאה את המוסד ,בטח
