By the grace of Hashem,

To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and assumes
a sacred mission, Rav David Avraham,
I greet you and bless you,
After a long interruption, I have duly received your letters of the 13th of this month and of the conclusion of the holy Shabbos*. Of course, the fear of any resentment (note 1: On the part of the Rebbe*) is without foundation and it in no way explains the delay of the response from here. As I have written to several Chassidim*, this must be attributed solely to my numerous occupations. I am surprised that you tell me nothing of your activities destined to disseminate the wellsprings (note 2: Of Chassidus*), within the dissemination of Judaism, in general. I hope, nevertheless, that you participate concretely and why deprive me of the good, by not informing me? No doubt you will complete all of this, at the next occasion. May Hashem cause it to be in joy and enthusiasm.
We are in the propitious days of the month of radiance (note 3: That of Iyar*, according to the expression of tractate Rosh Hashanah* 11b). Our Sages say that then were born those who illuminated the world (note 4: The Patriarchs, Avraham*, Yitzchak* and Yaakov*), by nature dark and obscure. Now, "the action of the Fathers is an indication for the children" (note 5: See the Sefer HaSichos* 5752, volume 1, page 79, at page 82) and brings them the strength to do the same. This is quite evident. With my blessing to give me good news, both of your communal accomplishments and of what concerns you personally,

שלום וברכה!
לאחרי הפסק ארוך נתקבל מכתביו מי"ג לחד"ז וממוצש"ק,
ופשיטא שהחשש ע"ד קפידא וכו' אין לו כל יסוד, לעכוב המענה מכאן, הרי כמו שכתבתי לכמה מאנ"ש, הוא אך ורק מרוב הטרדות.
לפלא שאינו מזכיר מפעולותיו בהפצת המעינות בתוככי הפצת היהדות בכלל, אף שהתקוה שעושה בפועל, ולמה ימנע הטוב מלהודיע עד"ז, ובטח ימלא בהזדמנות הבאה, ויהי רצון שיהי' זה מתוך שמחה וטוב לבב,
והרי נמצאים אנו בימי סגולה חדש זיו, וכפירוש חז"ל שבו נולדו זיותני עולם, שהכוונה בזה שהאירו את העולם (ההעלם וההסתר), ומעשה אבות סימן (ונתינת כח) לבנים, וק"ל.
