Igrot Kodesh · Letter 8425 — Faith & Bitachon

Volume 22 · Letter 208

By the grace of Hashem,

Rosh Chodesh* Sivan* 5722,

Brooklyn, New York,

To the association of the women of Brownsville and East

New York, may Hashem grant you long life,

I bless you and greet you,

I learned, with pleasure, that your luncheon and closing meeting will take place, please Hashem, on Isru Chag*, the day after Shavuos*, time of the giving of our Torah*. Of course, in the domains of holiness, of the Torah* and the Mitzvos*, there is no conclusion, in the proper sense of the term. One can envision an interruption, but this is not an end in itself. It is only a means of renewing, with increased forces, all that pertains to this holiness, to this Torah* and to these Mitzvos*, which are the objective of the women's association. This true purpose of the interruption or of the closing meeting must also manifest itself in the manner in which it takes place.

Such is, precisely, the content of this festival of Shavuos* and of the receiving of the Torah*. Indeed, it is quite clear that the Torah* is given and received each day of the year (note 1: See, on this subject, the Sefer HaSichos* 5751, volume 2, page 584). Despite this, during the festival of the giving of the Torah*, one receives fresh and renewed forces for all that concerns the Torah* and the Mitzvos*, which includes, in particular, the support for the study of the Torah* and for the Torah* institutions based on sacred values.

May Hashem cause the event to be fruitful, materially and spiritually, that it bring motivation to the members and to the friends, so that the closing meeting be a true preparation for the opening meeting, with refreshed, renewed and increased forces, with Chassidic* warmth and enthusiasm, in good health both physical and moral. With my blessing of success and to give good news, in general and specifically, as well as to receive the Torah* with joy and in a profound manner,

I enclose a receipt, emanating from the office in charge of discreet actions. May the merit thereof protect all the members, with all their families.
