eve of the festival of Shavuos* 5722,

To the attention of Mr. Binyamin Elyav,

I greet you and bless you,

On the occasion of the festival of Shavuos*, time of the giving of our Torah*, which arrives, for us and for all of Israel, for good and for blessing, I address, by the present letter, to you and to your wife, my wishes for a joyous festival and, according to the traditional formula that we received from my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, to receive the Torah* with joy and in a profound manner.

I seize this opportunity to express to you my satisfaction at your visit to Kfar Chabad* and at the impression you derived from it. I see therein a good beginning that will allow you to tighten your bonds with the men of Chabad*, in our Holy Land, may it be restored and rebuilt. Everything that happens in the world presents a positive aspect and, without doubt, a good will therefore result from it, for both parties at once. With my respects and my blessing on the occasion of the festival, as well as to give good news,

בהזדמנות זו אביע קורת רוחי מבקורו בכפר חב"ד והתרשמותו, שרואה אני בזה התחלה טובה להידוק הקשר עם אנשי חב"ד באה"ק ת"ו, וכיון שכל הענינים בעולם הם באופן של גומלין, הרי בודאי שתהי' מזה תועלת לשני הצדדים.
