I greet you and bless you,

After a particularly long interruption, I have duly received your letter of 13 Sivan*. In a general manner, my opinion is well known (note 1: See, on this subject, letters no. 6922, 7237 and 8120), I am not favorable to the purchase of stock shares. In practice, you will take counsel from friends who are on the spot.

I am surprised that you tell me nothing of your activities destined to disseminate the wellsprings (note 2: Of Chassidus*). Moreover, we have just experienced the days of the giving of the Torah*. As has been explained several times (note 3: See, in particular, letter no. 5496), the revealed part of the Torah* was then given in a hidden manner, in allusion in the Ten Commandments, as the admonitions of Rabbi Saadya Gaon specify. Conversely, the hidden part of the Torah* was given in an evident manner, so that all had the vision of the Heavenly Chariot, that "all (note 4: The Rebbe* underlines the word: 'all') the people saw."

It is fitting to recall these days and to relive them (note 5: See, on this subject, letter no. 8582). Indeed, it is said (note 6: According to tractate Berachos* 22a) that: "just as... now still..." (note 7: Just as, at the giving of the Torah*, they trembled, were covered with perspiration, it can still be so, at the present time). This is quite evident. With my blessing to give me good news,

לפלא שאין מזכיר מפעולותיו בהפצת המעינות ובפרט שהרי ז"ע באנו מימי מתן תורה, וכמדובר איזו פעמים, שאז הנגלה שבתורה ניתן בנסתר (ברמז באותיות דעשה"ד, וכמבואר באזהרות הרס"ג) והנסתר דתורה (מעשה מרכבה) ניתן בנגלה, עד שרואים כל העם,

והרי הימים צ"ל נזכרים ונעשים, ומה להלן כו' אף כאן וק"ל.
