To Mrs. Chaya Basya,

I bless you and greet you,

After a long interruption, I have duly received your letter of 10 Sivan*, with what was enclosed. I also examined with interest the stamp that you sent me (note 1: Intended for use within the Chabad* schools of the Holy Land). In a general manner, this initiative is positive, for various reasons. Nevertheless, I am a little surprised by the form of the Tablets of the Law (note 2: See, on this subject, letter no. 7582 and the lengthy explanation of the Rebbe*, in his discourse of Shabbos* Parshas Tissa* 5741 (1981) and of Simchas Torah* 5742 (1982)) that are depicted on it. You no doubt know that they must be cubic, including at the top, and not rounded. Our Sages establish this in various texts, in particular in tractate Bava Basra* 14a. This has also been disseminated through the visual of the cover page of the Conversations with the Young. My purpose, in saying this, is not to formulate a sterile criticism. I simply want to say that, when all these stamps have been used, one will correct all of this for the next edition. You will do the same for the other documents on which the drawing of the Tablets of the Law appears.

Although you do not say so clearly, I have good hope that you took counsel, regarding these stamps, from the other schools of the network (note 3: Oholei Yosef Yitzchak* Lubavitch in the Holy Land). Indeed, in this matter as well, one must endeavor that all function in the same manner. I am surprised that you tell me nothing of what concerns your school, in a general or more specific manner. No doubt you will complete all of this on the next occasion. You say nothing either of your state of health. This is therefore, I hope, a sign that all is well. With my blessing to give me good news,

לאחרי הפסק ארוך נתקבל מכתבה מי' סיון עם המצורף אליו, ובהתענינות ראיתי את הבול המצורף.

ובכלל הרעיון נכון הוא ומכמה טעמים, אלא שלפלא קצת ציור הלוחות אשר בודאי יודעת שצריכים להיות מרובעות גם מלמעלה ולא בחצי עיגול, וכמבואר ממאמרי חז"ל בכ"מ [ומהם בבא בתרא יד, א] וכמפורסם ג"כ ע"י הציור שעל השיחות לנוער וכו' כוונתי בהנ"ל לא לשם בקורת סרק אלא שכאשר יתמו כולם (בולים אלה) לתקן בהדפסה הבאה ועד"ז בשאר המקומות בם נמצא ציור לוחות.

אף שאין מזכירה עד"ז תקותי שהתייעצה בנוגע לבולים עם שאר בתי ספר הרשת, שהרי גם בזה יש להשתדל שיהי' קו אחיד בכל בתי הספר.

לפלא שאינה מזכירה מעניני ביה"ס בכלל ובפרט ובטח תמלא בהזדמנות הבאה.

כיון שאינה מזכירה בנוגע לבריאות התקוה שזהו סימן שהכל בסדר.
