Igrot Kodesh · Letter 846 — Health
Volume 4 · Letter 81
By the grace of Hashem,
3 Teves 5711,
Brooklyn,
I bless and greet you,
It has been told to me that you suffer from migraines.[1] As I was asked, I requested for you good and blessing while I was at the resting place of my father-in-law, the Frierdiker Rebbe. He has surely granted you his blessing of healing, that you may have long days and good years.
Commenting on the verse[2] 'he shall surely heal,' our Sages say that the Torah has entrusted to physicians the possibility of healing the sick.[3] Indeed, Hashem desires that the world be governed by the laws of nature. Nevertheless, one must know that Hashem directs the world and wishes that Jews experience good in it. He therefore grants them all good things.
He will, in particular, grant you long days and good years. You will have much nachas* — Jewish and Chassidic nachas* — from your children and grandchildren.
With my blessing,
Menachem Schneerson
