To the great Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem,

Rav E. R. (note 1: Rav Elyahu R. Toaf) Shlita*, Chief Rabbi (note 2: Of Rome, Italy),

I greet you and bless you,

I have duly received your letter of 11 Tammuz*, which cites the name of an agreeable young man, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem, Rav Elyahu Wazana, regarding a position of Shochet* in your community. May Hashem cause him to accede to his role and his function at a good and fruitful time. For your part, you will surely come to his aid so that he assumes, in the best manner possible, this sacred mission. Indeed, the merchants and the butchers listen to the Rav, but not always to the Shochet*, especially when he has just arrived. To someone like you, it is surely unnecessary to say more.

I have good hope that you have knowledge of the account of the liberation of 12 and 13 Tammuz*, which have just passed, dates of the liberation of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, leader of Israel. Indeed, "the body follows the head" (note 3: See, on this subject, letter no. 8453). May Hashem cause each person to elevate the head, both in what concerns him personally and in his communal accomplishments. All will act, indeed, in the domains for which the one whose joy and liberation we celebrate gave of his own person. And, he asked his disciples, those who follow his path, more generally all those who are linked to him, within all of Israel, that these actions be "in conformity with what they should be," carried out with eagerness, on the part of man, and realized with rapidity, through the help that Hashem grants them.

It is thus that one will put into practice the profound purpose of these actions, "we are the workers of the day," that of illuminating, of enlightening until the light is revealed at the lowest point and can be perceived there. With my respects and my blessing,

מאשר הנני קבלת המכתב מי"א בתמוז, ותוכנו אודות האברך הנעלה הוו"ח אי"א נו"נ הרב אלי' שי' וואזאנא, בקשר עם משרת שו"ב בק"ק של כת"ר.

ויהי רצון שיכנס למשרתו תפקידו בשעה טובה ומ[ו]צלחת ובודאי אשר כת"ר מצדו יסייע בידו בנוגע לכל ההידורים הדרושים במלאכת שמים האמורה ותלוים בבעלי בתים והאיטלזים וכו' הנשמעים לרב ולא תמיד לשו"ב, ובפרט בשו"ב אשר אך זה עתה בא, ובודאי לכת"ר האריכות בזה אך למותר.

התקוה חזקה אשר ידוע לכת"ר מפרשת חג הגאולה י"ב וי"ג תמוז, שזה עתה באנו מהם, גאולת כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר נשיא ישראל

והרי בתר רישא גופא אזיל,

יהי רצון שתהי' נשיאות ראש כל או"א בעניניו הפרטים ובענינים הכללים בם צריך לפעול - גם יחד.

פעולת כאו"א בכל הענינים עליהם מסר נפשו בעל הגאולה והשמחה הנ"ל, וצוה עליהם לתלמידיו, לההולכים באורחותיו, ובכלל - לכל השייכים אליו, בתוככי כלל ישראל.

תהיינה כמאן דבעי למהוי ובזריזות (מצדו) ובמהירות (מצד העזר מלמעלה)

לקיים המטרה הפנימית של כל הפעולות: אנן פועלי דיממא אנן - מאכן ליכטיג - להאיר ועד שיומשך האור למטה להיות - נראה אור.
