By the grace of Hashem,

I greet you and bless you,

I respond to your letter of 11/6, which reached me with much delay, as well as the one that preceded it. It is quite evident that you yourself and your friends must endeavor to disseminate, to the fullest extent possible and in every place where your influence extends, our Torah*, Torah* of life, the study of its revealed part and that of its profound dimension, which, in our era, has been revealed through Chassidus*. It is equally clear that your attitude must be imbued with serenity and peace, for such are the ways of our holy Torah*, Torah* of life. We are asked to accomplish both of these points simultaneously (note 1: To disseminate the Torah* and to do so with serenity) and it is therefore certain that it is possible to achieve this, with the fitting conduct and the necessary effort. In this way, one will be able to distance oneself from all controversy and to devote oneself to what has been said, that is to say to the dissemination of the Torah*, of its revealed part and of Chassidus*, as well as that of the Mitzvos*, with enthusiasm.

And, if someone expresses his disagreement (note 2: To this dissemination), which Hashem forbid, one must not pay attention to it, nor engage in polemics, for, in the end, what has been said and which is the teaching of the Baal Shem Tov*, of his disciples and of the disciples of his disciples, will carry the victory. I have good hope that you yourself, your friends and, above all, the Chassid*, Rav A. HaKohen Tawil, will give me good news of all this, to the measure of what is necessary. May Hashem grant you success. With my blessing of Mazal Tov*, as well as to give good news of what has just been said, of your communal activities and of your personal concerns,

במענה למכתבו מיום 6/11 שהגיעני באיחור זמן רב וכן מכתב הקודמו.

מובן וגם פשוט שעליו ועל חבריו שי' להשתדל ככל האפשרי בהפצת תורתנו תורת חיים לימוד הנגלה ופנימיות התורה שבדורנו נתגלתה בתורת החסידות, בכל מקום שידו מגעת.

כן מובן וגם פשוט שההנהגה צריכה להיות בדרכי נועם ובדרכי שלום שהם הן דרכי תורתנו הק' תורת חיים.

וכיון שנצטוינו על שני הענינים גם יחד, בודאי אשר בהנהגה מתאימה ובהשתדלות יוכלו למלאות שני הציווים, ז. א. להשתמט מעניני מחלוקת כי אם לעסוק בענינים האמורים הפצת התורה (נגלה וחסידות) ומצות, ומתוך טוב לבב.

ואם מי שהוא יחלוק עליהם ח"ו, לא לשים לב לזה, ולא להכנס עמהם בויכוחים, וסוף הדבר אשר ינצח האמור, תורת הבעש"ט ותלמידיו ותלמידי תלמידיו.

ותקותי חזקה שהוא וחבריו... שי' ולכל לראש הרה"ח הר"א שי' הכהן טאויל יבשרו טוב בהנ"ל ככל הדרוש, והשי"ת יצליחם...
