To the attention of Rav Mordechai Kirschblum (note 2: See, regarding him, letter no. 8513),

I greet you and bless you,

You have surely received the good wishes I sent you on the occasion of the new year and I have myself just received your letter, with what was enclosed. I thank you for your warm words about our conversation. In fact, the purpose of an exchange is to pass from the world of speech to that of action. One knows, indeed, how grave it is to utter useless words. I therefore have good hope that my words and yours will arouse in each of us an increased activity in the domain and the direction about which we conversed. Moreover, it is a matter, in this case, of education, which has always been a fundamental question and which is, a fortiori, in our era, especially in our Holy Land, may it be restored and rebuilt.

I read with interest the copy of the letter that was enclosed with your correspondence. I took note of the figures mentioned therein (note 3: Related, presumably, to the number of schooled children). To someone like you, it is surely unnecessary to underline that these are without any proportion not only with the needs of the moment, but also with the demands of the moment. No doubt you will not hold it against me if I express once again my hope that you will make full use of your influence to bring to action all the people and all the organizations upon which it extends, in the appropriate direction. No doubt in the future you will continue to inform me of the developments in this domain. I thank you for this in advance.

On this occasion, I enclose a copy of a talk and a letter relating to Rosh Hashanah*. I have good hope that they will interest you. And, indeed, their content is linked to what was the subject of our discussion. With my respects and my blessing that you be definitively sealed for a good year,

בטח קבל ברכת השנה ששלחתי לו. וזה עתה נתקבל מכתבו עם המצורף אליו.

ות"ח על דבריו הנלבבים שכותב בקשר עם השיחתנו, וכיון שכל ענין של דברים תכליתם שיומשכו מעולם הדיבור לעולם המעשה, וכידוע חומר ענין של דברים בטלים, תקותי חזקה שדברי ודבריו יביאו - בכל אחד מאתנו להוספה במעשה בפועל בשטח ובכיוון ששוחחנו, ובפרט שהוא שטח החינוך, הבעי' החיונית מאז ומקדם, וביחוד בדורנו, ועל אחת כמה וכמה בארצנו הקדושה ת"ו.

בהתענינות קראתי העתק המכתב המצורף למכתבו וראיתי המספרים המובאים שם, ובודאי לדכוותי' למותר להדגיש שהם לגמרי שלא בערך לא רק עם דרישת המצב אלא גם עם הכרח המצב. ולכן בודאי שלא יקפיד אם אדגיש עוד הפעם תקותי שכת"ר ינצל השפעתו במילואה בשטח זה במיוחד להפעיל כל האישים והארגונים שהשפעתו מגעת אליהם בכיוון הרצוי. ובטח יודיעני גם להבא מכל המתרחש בשטח זה ות"ח מראש.

בהזדמנות זו מצ"ב העתק שיחה וגם מכתב לראש השנה, שתקותי שכת"ר ימצא בהם ענין, ואת"ל יש לתכנם שייכות לתוכן שיחתנו.
