By the grace of Hashem,

To the great Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem,

of multiple accomplishments, the Rav Shaul (note 1: Rav Sh. Israeli, of Kfar HaRoeh),

I greet you and bless you,

I respond to your letter of the seventh light (note 2: Of the festival of Chanukah*). At a propitious moment, all those you cite will be mentioned near the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit will protect us, in conformity with the content of your letter. May Hashem cause you to give me good news, on this subject. Indeed, your letter was written during the days of light, of miracles and of salvation.

All is the effect of Divine Providence and it happens that I heard much about you, about your capacities and the opportunities that present themselves to you to disseminate traditional Judaism, without compromise. I therefore permit myself to express the hope that you are active, in this matter, to the fullest extent possible. Of course, I insist on the rejection of compromise, which must be total and categorical, in an era of loss of values. Moreover, at the same time as a responsibility and a broad possibility, Hashem also grants a merit and a heavenly assistance. As our Sages indicate, "Hashem comes to the aid of him who desires to purify himself" and the Admur HaZaken* adds, furthermore: "who desires to purify others" (note 3: See tractate Yoma* 38b and the Likkutei Torah*, commentaries on Shemini Atzeres*, at page 88b). May Hashem cause you to give good news of your personal preoccupations, as well as of your communal accomplishments. With my respects and my blessing,

במענה למכתבו מנר השביעי.

בעת רצון יזכירו כל שכותב אודותם על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע מתאים לתוכן כתבו, ויהי רצון מהשי"ת שיבשר טוב בזה. והרי נכתב מכתבו בימי האור הנסים והפורקן.

ומאחר שהכל בהשגחה פרטית ורבות שמעתי ע"ד כת"ר והכשרונות והאפשריות בידו בנוגע להפצת היהדות המסורתית בלי פשרות וכו' ארשה לי להביע תקותי שעושה בהאמור ככל האפשרי וכמובן הדגשתי הוא על שלילת הפשרה שהשלילה צריכה להיות ביחוד ובהחלט בתקופה של טשטוש הערכים וכו' והרי ביחד עם האחריות והאפשריות גדולה גם כן הזכות והסיוע הניתן מלמעלה, וכהוראת חכמנו ז"ל הבא לטהר, - וידוע דיוק רבנו הזקן, לטהר גם אחרים - מסייעין לו מלמעלה. ויהי רצון שיבשר טוב בכל עניניו הפרטים וגם הכללים.
