To the attention of Mr. Ezra Gottlieb,

I greet you and bless you,

I received, with pleasure, your letter of the 22nd of Teves*. The Chassidim* have already written to me, more than once, to inform me of the interest you manifest for Kfar Chabad* and its institutions, of the help you bring to it. I hope that you will continue to do so, to the fullest extent possible and, in light of your letter, this hope is reinforced. At a propitious moment, I will mention your name, as well as that of your wife and the members of your family, near the resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, so that the wishes of your heart, both material and spiritual, may be positively fulfilled.

Furthermore, this year is particular since it is the one hundred and fiftieth since the passing of the Admur HaZaken*, author of the Tanya* and the Shulchan Aruch*, father of the Chabad* movement, of its philosophy, and of its teachings. May Hashem therefore cause this remembrance to lead each one of us, within all of Israel, to concrete actions going in the right direction. Indeed, a favorable action is also the channel and the receptacle permitting to integrate the blessings of Hashem, in all needs. With my respects and my blessing,

שלום וברכה!

בנועם קבלתי מכתבו מיום כ"ב טבת. וכבר כתבו לי אנ"ש שי' - ולא אחת - על דבר התענינותו ועזרתו לכפר חב"ד ומוסדותיו, והתקוה שימשיך בזה ככל האפשר. ולאור מכתבו, הרי התקוה מתחזקת.

בעת רצון אזכיר את כ' ואת אשתו ובני ביתו שי' על ציון כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר, למלוי משאלות לבו לטובה, בגשמיות וברוחניות גם יחד.

והרי שנה זו בפרט היא שנת סגולה להיותה שנת המאה וחמשים להסתלקותו של אדמו"ר הזקן בעל התניא והשלחן-ערוך, אבי תנועת חב"ד ושיטתה והדרכותי', ויהי רצון שהזכרון יעורר כל אחד מאתנו בתוככי כלל ישראל למעשים בפועל בכיוון הרצוי, שהמשעה הרצוי הוא גם צנור וכלי לקבלת ברכות השי"ת בכל המצטרך.
