To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem,

the Rav Yosef Aharon (note 1: Rav Y. A. Dinerfeld, of Toronto),

I greet you and bless you,

I have duly received your letter of Rosh Chodesh* Adar*, with what was enclosed. At a propitious moment, your name and that of your wife will be mentioned near the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit will protect us, concerning what you write to me.

You ask me how to influence your close ones for what concerns the Torah* and the Mitzvos*. Now, one can verify that, sometimes, influence comes through the intermediary of friends and acquaintances, rather than in a direct manner, which, of course, does not exempt one from acting personally.

I hope that you took part in the Chassidic* gathering of the day of the Hilula*, the 10th of Shevat* (note 2: Of the Rebbe* Rayatz*), as well as in that of the 24th of Teves* (note 3: Of the Admur HaZaken*), which preceded it. In fact, this year is the one hundred and fiftieth since the passing of the Admur HaZaken*. With my blessing to give me good news of all this,
