To the attention of Mr. Shraga Mazal,

I greet you and bless you,

I received, with pleasure, your letter of the 28th of Teves* and I was satisfied to read therein that you maintain a positive relationship with the men of Chabad*, in general, with those of Kfar Chabad*, in particular. I have good hope not only that you will continue in this direction, but also that you will increase all of this, as must be the case for all that concerns good and holiness. Indeed, it is fitting to "elevate oneself in the domain of holiness." Moreover, the fact of growing and developing is the sign of what is alive. This includes also a lively interest.

As you asked me, I will mention your name, as well as those of your wife and the members of your family, near the resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, founder of Kfar Chabad*. The merit of your help to the Kfar will surely protect you, as well as all your family, so that you may be blessed in all your needs, both material and spiritual. Furthermore, this year is particularly propitious, since it is the one hundred and fiftieth since the passing of the Admur HaZaken*, author of the Tanya* and the Shulchan Aruch*, founder of the Chabad* movement, of its philosophy, and of its directives. With my blessing of success and to give me good news,

בנועם קבלתי מכתבו מכ"ח בטבת, ונהניתי לקרוא בו על דבר יחסו הטוב לאנשי חב"ד בכלל וכפר חב"ד בפרט. ותקותי חזקה שלא רק ימשיך בזה, אלא עוד יוסיף, כמו בכל ענין של טוב וקדושה שצריך להעלות בקדש, והרי גודל וצמיחה הוא סימן של חיות בכל דבר חי, לרבות התענינות חי'.

כבקשתו, אזכירו ואת אשתו ובני ביתו, שיחיו, על ציון כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר, מייסד כפר חב"ד, וזכות עזרתו לכפר בודאי יעמוד לכ' ולכל אשר לו להתברך בכל המצטרך בגשמיות וברוחניות גם יחד. ובפרט ששנה זו היא שנת סגולה להיותה שנת המאה וחמשים להסתלקותו של כ"ק אדמו"ר הזקן, בעל התניא והשולחן ערוך, מייסד תנועת חב"ד ושיטתה והדרכותי'.
