To the attention of Mr. David Epstein,

I greet you and bless you,

After having expressed my gratitude to you, during the Chassidic* gathering of Purim*, for your gift, the two volumes of the book Teshuvah Shelemah* (note 1: "Complete Response." The Rebbe* underlines these words), I would also like to signify to you in writing my satisfaction at having seen you, during this gathering, and I reiterate my thanks for this collection of responsa.

I hope that you yourself and your brothers are among those who have a fixed time for the study of the Torah*, in general, for that of such works, in particular. Furthermore, the books of Halachah* deal with what concerns concrete action and our Sages say (note 2: In tractate Kiddushin* 40b) that: "great is the study that leads to action." Without doubt, you also put into practice the great principle that constitutes the Mitzvah*: "You shall love your fellow as yourself," so that each one influences his surroundings. Indeed, whoever exercises an influence on the many bears the responsibility and the merit of all depends on it. With my respects and my blessing,

נוסף על הבעת תודתי בעת התועדות דפורים בעד תשורתו ספר תשובה שלמה , ב' חלקים, רצוני למסור גם בכתב מקורת רוחי להתראות אתו בעת ההתועדות, וגם לכפול תודתי בעד תשורתו, ס' שו"ת הנ"ל.

תקותי אשר כ' ואחיו שי' נמנים בין אלו שיש להם קביעת עתים בתורה בכלל, ובספרים אלו ביחוד. ובפרט שספרי הלכה הם העוסקים בענינים הנוגעים למעשה בפועל, וכבר אמרו חכמינו ז"ל גדול למוד שמביא לידי מעשה. ובודאי מקיימים גם כלל גדול מצות ואהבת לרעך כמוך בהשפעה כל אחד בסביבתו, שהרי כל מי שיש לו השפעה על רבים אחריות הרבים עליו וזכות הרבים תלוי בו.
