Igrot Kodesh · Letter 8617 — Chinuch

Volume 22 · Letter 400 · To: service de D.ieu.

By the grace of Hashem,

28 Nissan* 5723,

Brooklyn,

I greet you and bless you,

At a propitious moment, your name will be mentioned near the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit will protect us, in conformity with the content of your letter. Just as you transmitted this request to me, may Hashem cause you to give me good news of it.

We have just lived the days of Pesach*, "time of our freedom," which deliver from all that constitutes an obstacle (note 1: To the service of Hashem). The merit of Tzedakah* (note 2: Given by the addressee of this letter), for which I enclose a receipt, will protect you, in this matter.

According to what I keep in memory, I have already written to you that, having been a student of the Yeshivah* Tomchei Temimim* at Vilna (note 3: See the Likkutei Sichos*, volume 4, at page 313), founded by our masters and chiefs, you must be conscious of the assurance that was given to us according to which holiness does not leave the place that is its own. The Admur HaZaken*, whose one hundred and fiftieth Hilula* this year is, writes, furthermore, at chapter 24 of the Tanya*, that the unification thus achieved (note 4: Thanks to the study of the Torah*) is immutable, above. I therefore have good hope that you do not content yourself with a fixed study of the revealed part of the Torah*, but that you also study Chassidus* and that you do all that is in your power to disseminate it, with all that concerns it, in every place where your influence extends, as Chassidus* itself asks and with love of one's fellow. The merit of what is public will come to your aid.

I would be satisfied to have your good news, about all that has just been said. With my blessing in order to give me this good news,
