You write to me to inform me of what happened, concerning the Tefillin* (note 1: The addressee of this letter forgot to put them on, once). You must acquire a thorough knowledge of the Chassidic* discourses treating of this subject, the discourse entitled: "Place me as a sign" and its commentary, in the Likkutei Torah* Shir HaShirim* (note 2: Of the Admur HaZaken*), the gate of the Tefillin*, in the Siddur* (note 2: Of the Admur HaZaken*), and the Mitzvah* of the Tefillin*, in the Derech Mitzvosecha* (note 3: Of the Tzemach Tzedek*).
