Igrot Kodesh · Letter 8638 — Faith & Bitachon

Volume 22 · Letter 421

By the grace of Hashem,

12 Sivan* 5723,

one hundred and fiftieth year of the

passing of the Admur HaZaken*,

Brooklyn, New York,

To all the participants in the annual dinner of the

Yeshivah* Achei Temimim* Lubavitch* of Newark,

may Hashem grant you long life,

I greet you and bless you,

I address, by the present, my warm blessing to all the participants in the annual dinner of the Yeshivah* Achei Temimim* Lubavitch* of Newark (note 1: See the Likkutei Sichos*, volume 18, at page 431) and my sincere wishes that this celebration know the greatest success. We have just experienced the festival of the giving of the Torah*. Each one will therefore preserve the motivation of the reception of the Torah* and will bring to it a concrete application, including by supporting the Yeshivah* Lubavitch* of Newark, in the best way and as broadly as possible.

It is a matter, in this case, not of an exceptional endorsement, but indeed of a personal commitment taken by all the children of Yisrael*, near Mount Sinai*, when we made our children our guarantors (note 2: According to the Midrash* Shir HaShirim Rabbah*, chapter 1, paragraph 4), as it is said: "Our children will be our guarantors" (note 3: The Rebbe* underlines the words: "Our children will be our guarantors"), thus attesting that the Torah* and the Mitzvos* will not disappear, which Hashem forbid. It is therefore by the merit of the children that the adults, all the people of Yisrael*, received the Torah*.

At all times, and particularly in our era, each one has as an objective to support the institutions of Torah* based on sacred values, notably the Yeshivah* Lubavitch* of Newark, which has acquired a good reputation, that of an important institution of Torah*. It therefore fully deserves the help that will be brought to it.

May Hashem grant to all the participants in the annual dinner, to the donors and to the friends of the Yeshivah* Achei Temimim* Lubavitch* of Newark, the satisfaction of all their needs, both material and spiritual. With my blessing for success, as well as to give good news,

M. Schneerson,
