generous conduct, is descended from an illustrious family,

the Rav S. Z. (note 1: Shneur Zalman Shazar, president of Eretz Yisrael*. See, regarding him, letter no. 8254) Shlita*,

I greet you and bless you,

The propitious dates of 12 and 13 Tammuz* approach and may Hashem cause that these days be commemorated and relived (note 2: See, on this subject, letter no. 8582) by each one of us, within all of Yisrael*, with the profound and determined will to make use, to the fullest extent possible, of the opportunities and the strengths that Hashem grants, as did the one whose liberation we celebrate, may his merit protect us and all of Yisrael*. It is, indeed, this motivation that reveals increased strengths and means.

One can be confronted with difficulties, which sometimes are even real, but, here again, the teaching of these days proves that one must not be affected by any obstacle, any impediment. Let one therefore observe (note 3: See, on this subject, letters no. 8464 to 8466) that a single man, certainly more elevated than the people, stood to his full stature against a powerful and authoritarian regime. And, he was the victor in all the domains where he led his battle. On different points, they (note 4: His opponents) were compelled to signify their assent and, moreover, they even had to come to his aid. How much more must this be so for us, since we have the merit of acting under infinitely milder conditions. Furthermore, the path has already been traced for us, for, when the Great ones of Yisrael* blaze the trail and open a channel (note 5: See, on this subject, the Likkutei Sichos*, volume 20, from page 74), the many can imitate their example and know success.

Despite the changes and the occupations that have arisen since last year, I am sure that you continue your efforts to know what becomes of the different research and publication projects concerning Chabad* (note 6: See, on this subject, letter no. 8254). I enclose a copy of the works that have been published this year. Of course, these, for the most part, concern the Admur HaZaken*, since this is the one hundred and fiftieth year of his passing Hilula*, a favorable year.

In fact, the second project of the research center on Chabad* is at your initiative and it was established according to your counsel. The great project concerns the "seven generations of Chabad*" (note 7: From the Admur HaZaken* to the Rebbe*). I am convinced that the Admur HaZaken* will protect you in this matter. In this way, there will be every chance that the result will be followed by a concrete effect. With my consideration, my respects, and my blessing on the occasion of the festival of liberation, as well as to give me good news,

שלום וברכה!

לקראת ימי הסגולה יב-יג תמוז הממשמשים ובאים, יהי רצון שהימים האלו הנזכרים ונעשים יעוררו בכל אחד מאתנו, בתוככי כלל ישראל, פנימיות ותוקף הרצון לנצל במדה הכי מלאה כל האפשרויות והכוחות שניתנו מלמעלה, כדוגמת בעל הגאולה, זכותו יגן עלינו ועל כל ישראל.

שהתעוררות זו עצמה - מגלה כוחות ואפשרויות נוספים.

ואם אפילו יש קשיים, ומהם מציאותיים, הרי גם בזה לימוד ימים אלו - שאין להתפעל מפני כל קושי ועיכוב. צא ולמד שאם איש אחד, אף כי מורם מעם, התיצב מלוא קומתו נגד ממשלה רודנית ועויינת, נצח בכל השטחים עליהם לחם, ועד לאופן אשר בכמה פרטים לא רק בעל כרחם ענו אמן, אלא גם סייעו בידו, על אחת כמה וכמה אנו שזכינו לפעול בתנאים נוחים שלא בערך, ובפרט שהדרך כבר סלולה לפנינו, כי כאשר גדולי ישראל פותחים השביל והצנור, הרי על ידי זה ביכולת רבים לעשות כמותם ולהצליח.

למרות השנויים והטרדות וכו' שחלו במשך הזמן משנה שעברה, בטוחני שכ' מעונין לדעת את המתרחש בנוגע לפרויקטים השונים בשטח "המחקר חב"ד, וההדפסה וכו'.

ומצורף בזה העתקות דשנה זו, אשר כמובן הענינים העקריים הם הקשורים עם רבינו הזקן ועניניו, אשר השנה היא שנת המאה וחמשים להסתלקות-הילולא שלו, ושנת סגולה היא.

ולהעיר, אשר הפרויקט 2 של המרכז למחקר חב"ד הוא ביזמתו והצעתו של כ'.

והפרויקט הגדול בנוגע "שבעת דורות חב"ד, בטוחני שזכות רבינו הזקן יעמוד גם בזה שיהיו סכויים טובים ועד להבפועל ממש.
