To the Chassidic Rabbi, man of truth, Hashem-fearing, communal worker, Rabbi Azriel Zelig,[1] may he live,

Peace and blessing!

Just now it was brought to my attention about the estate of Rabbi S.A. Elkin of blessed memory, who — according to what was conveyed to me — was a student of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe (Maharashab*) of blessed memory, and had in his possession letters in the Rebbe's own holy handwriting. And since he passed away in the Holy Land, it is most, most appropriate to ascertain what has become of the aforementioned holy handwritten documents. And although, as they write to me, he passed away some years ago, nevertheless I hope there is still something that can be done in this matter.

And from one matter to a similar matter, regarding the estate of Rabbi Neimark of blessed memory of Tel Aviv — who, as far as I know, did not leave behind sons — and it is close to say that he had, from his grandfather's inheritance, [writings,] as his [grandfather] was of the chassidim of the Rebbe Maharash and of the Rebbe Maharashab of blessed memory.

And although the time does not permit for me to be the one writing and sending letters, nevertheless every [effort made] early — in investigation and inquiry — is good. And I await good tidings on the above.

Because of the sanctity of the festival, the Rebbe Shlita* did not sign, and I sign in his name,

ז"ע העירו אותי על העזבון של הרב ש.א. עלקין ע"ה שע"פ דברי הנ"ל הי' תלמידו של כ"ק אדמו"ר (מוהרש"ב) נ"ע והיו אצלו מכתבים גוף כתי"ק, וכיון שנפטר באה"ק ת"ו מהנכון ביותר וביותר להודע מהנעשה עם כי"ק הנ"ל, ואף כפי שכותבים לי נפטר לפני איזה שנים בכ"ז אקוה שיש עדיין מה לעשות בזה.

ומענין לענין בענין דומה בנוגע להעזבון של הרב ניימארק ע"ה דתל אביב, שכמדומה לא הניח בנים, וקרוב לומר שהיו אצלו מירושת זקנו שהי' מחסידי אדמו"ר מוהר"ש ושל אדמו"ר מוהרש"ב נ"ע.

ולמרות שלא הזמ"ג להיות כותב ושולח מכתבים, הרי כל ההקדם בחקירה ודרישה יפה, ואחכה לבשו"ט בהאמור.

מפני קדושת המועד לא בא כ"ק אדמו"ר שליט"א על החתום, והנני חותם בשמו
