I hereby acknowledge with great thanks receipt of the booklet "The Study of Judaism in Secondary Education," as well as his article. And my hope is that in the future too he will send me his publications that he thinks would interest me.

Although there was no time to examine the booklet properly, I did see the space he allotted to the chapter "The Teaching of Chassidus in Our Time," and it is entirely insufficient in proportion to the importance of the matter. As the chapter itself begins: one must devote much time and energy to those chapters in our literature that deal with the person on a psychological [level] (the author's own emphasis). And these chapters, in a systematic and concentrated manner, are found primarily in the literature of chassidus.

An additional point that underscores the compression in the aforementioned chapter: the subject is new for a great many teachers and has not seen much light in the literature of education, unlike the content of several chapters of the booklet that have already been treated in many books and at greater length. Obviously my intent, Heaven forfend, is not to seek faults; the words are spoken only in the hope that on a suitable occasion the matter will find its correction, and the merit of the many depends upon him.

הנני לאשר בתודה רבה קבלת החוברת "לימודי היהדות בחינוך העל-יסודי" וכן המאמר שלו. ותקותי אשר גם בעתיד ישלח לי פרסומיו שחושב שיענינו אותי.

אף שלא הי' פנאי לעיין בחוברת כדבעי, אבל ראיתי את המקום שהקציב לפרק "הוראת החסידות בזמננו" והנו לגמרי לא מספיק בערך חשיבות הענין, וכמו שמתחיל הפרק בעצמו שיש להקדיש הרבה זמן ומרץ לאותם הפרקים בספרותנו הנוגעים באופן נפשי לאדם (הדגשתו של המחבר). והרי פרקים אלו, באופן סיסטמתי ומרוכז נמצאים בעיקר בספרות החסידות.

ועוד נקודה המבליטה עוד יותר את הצמצום בפרק האמור, כי הנושא הוא חדש בעד כמה וכמה מורים ולא ראה הרבה אור בספרות החינוך, משא"כ תוכן כמה וכמה פרקים של החוברת שנדונו כבר בהרבה ספרים וביתר אריכות. מובן שאין כוונתי ח"ו לחפש מגרעות, ולא נאמרו הדברים אלא בתקוה שבהזדמנות המתאימה ימצא הענין תיקון וזכות הרבים תלוי בו.
