Greetings and blessings,

In reply to your letter of Sunday of Parshas Bo, in which you inform me that you have found a new apartment.

You will inaugurate it by studying Torah in it — that is to say, in one of the rooms, you will teach it to a few talmidim*. And, at least for yourself, you will study the teachings of my father-in-law, the Rebbe.

You will convey to your wife my surprise to find that all this makes her sad. She is the daughter of a Chassid, the wife of a Chassid, and possesses, by herself, a Chassidic perception and feelings. Why, then, is she sad?

Let her rejoice in all the good that Hashem has granted her until now. Joy breaks limits and will fill in what is still lacking. I thank you for being so kind as to confirm to me that she is indeed adopting this attitude.

במענה על מכתבו מיום א' בא, המודיע כי מצאו דירה חדשה... ויחנכו הבית בתלמוד תורה, היינו שבתחילה ילמוד באחד החדרים שם עם איזה מתלמידיו, ובתורת כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ עכ"פ לעצמו.

ולזוג' תי' ימסור שתמה אני על הידיעה שבעצבות היא מכהנ"ל. בתו של חסיד ואשתו של חסיד ובעצמה בעלת מוחין ורגש חסידותי, עצבות מנין לה? תהי' שמחה באמת על כל הטוב אשר הנחילה השי"ת עד עתה, ושמחה פורץ גדר למלאות גם את החסר עדיין לע"ע. ות"ח לו אם יוכל להודיעני אז זי פאלגט.
