Greetings and blessings,

I duly received your letter of Tuesday of Parshas Va'eira. And I have just received the mail you charged your friend to send me. After examining it, I will return it to you, as you ask in your letter.

The letter dealing with the liberation of the Alter Rebbe[2] is also printed in Beis Rebbi, but it is reproduced there from a copy in which errors have crept in.

I enclose the commentaries on the visit to the tziyun* of the tzaddik*, by the great Rav, tzaddik* and Chassid, Reb Hillel of Paritch. By separate parcel, I had sent to you the Sefer HaMaamarim 5627[3], which has just appeared now, in accordance with the instructions given by my father-in-law, the Rebbe, before his passing.

I was discussing with Rav Sh. Levitin[4] the maamarim* of the Rebbe Rashab, and he pointed out to me that maamarim* he himself heard[5] are not mentioned in the index that I drafted. They are the following:

The maamarim* of 5659[6] "Vehaya ki yishalcha bincha" of Pesach*, "Vayehi he'anan vehachoshech" of Shevii shel Pesach*, "Hodu laHashem ve'kiru biShmo", "Pa'am achas hayah ha'olam tzarich gishmei matar", "Im lo brisi yomam valayla", "Hamemares es harosh" — all these maamarim* having been said between Pesach* and Shavuos* — "Se'u marom eineichem", "Yerushalayim halleli es Hashem", "Az tismach besulah b'machol" said on the Shabbos that preceded the birth of my sister-in-law, the Rebbetzin Chana[7], "Vaykes Hashem es Avraham bakol", "Az tismach besulah b'machol", both said on the day of her birth.

The maamarim* of 5660[8], "HaChodesh hazeh" for Parshas HaChodesh, "Refuah tehi leshareicha" for Parshas Emor, "Refuah tehi leshareicha" for Lag BaOmer*, "Gedolah Torah she'nosenes chayim."

Rav Levitin told me that at that time you yourself were in Lubavitch. I would therefore like to ask you whether these maamarim* were indeed said on these dates. I thank you for replying to me on this point. Perhaps you also remember other maamarim* of the Rebbe Rashab that do not appear in the index. You surely possess this index. If this is not the case, let me know and I will send it to you.

קבלתי מכתבו מיום ג' וארא, ועתה נתקבל ג"כ המכתב עתי פערעזשיטאיע שבקש את מכירו לשלחו לי. לאחר העיון אחזירו לכבו', כמו שכותב במכתבו.

המכתב ע"ד שיחרור אדה"ז נדפס ג"כ בב"ר אבל מהעתקה ומשובש.

הנני מסגיר פה חוברת מאמרי השתטחות להרה"ג הרה"צ והרה"ח וכו' ר' הלל מפאריטש ז"ל. כן שלחתי לכת"ר שי' בחבילה בפ"ע ספר מאמרי תרכ"ז שהו"ל זה עתה ע"פ הוראת כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע הכ"מ לפני הסתלקותו.

בדברי עם הרה"ח וכו' מוהר"ש שי' לויטין ע"ד מאמרי כ"ק אדמו"ר (מהורש"ב) נ"ע, העירני עד"ז שבמפתח שנסדר ונדפס על ידי לא נכנסו המאמרים ששמעם בעצמו, והם: משנת תרנ"ט - כי ישאלך, חג הפסח; ויהי הענן והחשך, שביעי של פסח; הודו לה' קראו בשמו, זמנא חדא איצטרך עלמא למיטרא, אם לא בריתי יומם ולילה, ואיש כי ימרט ראשו, כולם בין חג הפסח לשבועות; ד"ה שאו מרום עיניכם, שבחי ירושלים את ה', אז תשמח בתולה במחול (שבת שקודם לידת גיסתי הרבנית מרת חנה שתי'), וה' ברך את אברהם בכל, אז תשמח בתולה במחול (שניהם ביום הולדת הנ"ל). משנת תר"ס - החדש הזה, פ' החדש; רפאות תהי לשריך, פ' אמור; רפאות תהי לשריך, ל"ג בעומר; גדולה תורה שהיא נותנת לך חיים. ואמר לי שכת"ר הי' ג"כ אז בליובאוויטש, ולכן אשאל גם את כת"ר שי' אם זוכר שהיו המאמרים הנ"ל בזמנים הנ"ל. ות"ח מראש אם יענני על זה.

ואולי נשמרו בזכרונו עוד מאמרי אדמו"ר מהורש"ב נ"ע שלא נכנסו במפתח? המפתח בטח ישנו תחת ידו, ואם לאו מטובו להודיעני ואשלח לו.
