To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem, Rav Nachum Leib*,[1]

I greet and bless you,

I have duly received the booklet. According to what I have been written, you reproduced therein the writings of your father, of blessed memory, in particular his notes concerning the Admor HaZaken*, author of the Tanya* and the Shulchan Aruch*. May you therefore have a long life. I thank you for this fine gift. Without doubt, if you have other notes remaining, you will send them to me as well. I thank you in advance.

Indeed, one can deduce from the teachings of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*,[2] leader of Israel, the importance of notes and the holy discourses of the Tzaddikim*, as well as the events of their lives. May Hashem therefore grant you long days, good and pleasant years. You will have — in the expression of the early Chassidim* — "good years, Chassidic* years." No doubt you study the Mishnah* regularly. With my respects and blessing, in order to receive good tidings from you,

מאשר הנני קבלת החוברת, אשר כפי שכותבים לי העתיק זה מכתבי אביו ז"ל, - יבדל לחיים טובים - רשימותיו וכו' בנוגע לרבנו הגדול בעל התניא והשו"ע.

ות"ח על התשורה טובה, ובודאי באם עוד נמצאים רשימות וכו' ישלחם גם הם, ותודה למפרע.

ובפרט ע"פ דברי כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר נשיא ישראל בגודל ענין רשימות שיחות קדש של צדיקים והקורות אותם במשך ימי חייהם.

ויאריך השי"ת ימיו ושנותיו בטוב ובנעימים, ובסגנון חסידים הראשונים, גוטע יארן און חסידות'שע יארן.

בודאי לומד הוא משניות לעתים תכופות.
