Igrot Kodesh · Letter 908 — Family & Marriage

Volume 4 · Letter 143

By the grace of Hashem,

2 Adar Rishon 5711,

Brooklyn,

Greetings and blessing,

I have received news of your uncle through several of our shluchim* who, from time to time, travel to Switzerland, as well as through your relatives who are here.

I have also had the opportunity to make his acquaintance and to perceive how much a personality like his needs friendship and warmth.

It is surely unnecessary for me to spell all this out for you or to demonstrate its importance, both from a human standpoint and from that of Torah. Nevertheless, I take the liberty of underscoring the immense mitzvah* that you, together with your wife, are performing by giving your uncle more than the usual attention and friendship.

The Frierdiker Rebbe* emphasizes that Hashem never remains in debt. I am certain that He will reward you with great success, a happy life, and much nachas* from your son.

With my wishes of blessing and success for you and yours,

Menachem Schneerson,
