I bless and greet you,
After a particularly long interruption, I have duly received your letter of January 5th. Of course, if I hear of a suitable proposition, I will keep it in mind and let you know. Nevertheless, I must say that people do not come to me for such projects; my advice is sought only once a proposition has already been formulated. However, as I said, I am keeping all of this in mind.
On this occasion, I would like to express the hope that in the meantime you have published your reflections and thoughts on religion and science — in particular on the mistaken notion that science refutes various points of the Torah and, in general, makes categorical assertions with absolute certainty. Needless to say, I would be happy to learn of such publications when they are ready.
Indeed, on various occasions in the past, I have advised those who consulted me[2] in this area to read your book[3] on science and Judaism, in which they would find various answers to their questions, all the more so since it cites references and cross-references to scientific works by well-known authors. You say nothing about other areas of your life, and from that I conclude that all is well. With my respects and blessing,

אחרי ההפסק הכי ארוך נתקבל מכתבו מה-5 ליאנואר. ומובן אשר אם תזדמן הצעה שלהשערתי מתאימה, יהי' הענין שמור בזכרוני ואודיע לו. ברם מוכרחני לומר שבכלל אין פונים אלי בענינים אלה אלא לאחר שיש כבר הצעה ושואלים דעתי אם מתאים הדבר. אבל, כאמור, אשמור את הדבר.
בהזדמנות זו אביע תקותי שבמשך הזמן פירסם מרעיונותיו ומחשבותיו בשטח הדת והמדע, ובפרט בנוגע העמדה המיוסדת על הטעות כאילו המדע שולל כמה וכמה ענינים בתורה ושהמדע בכלל יכול לקבוע ענינים באופן קטגורי ובודאות מוחלטת וכולי. ומובן שיענין אותי לראות פרסומים אלו אם יש לו מן המוכן.
דרך אגב, בכמה הזדמנויות בעבר, כשפנו אלי בשאלות מהסוג האמור, הוריתי להשואלים לעיין בספרו על המדע והיהדות למצוא שם מענה על כמה משאלותיהם, ובפרט שיש מראה מקומות וציונים לספרי מדע של אנשי שם.
כ' לא מזכיר ע"ד שאר עניניו הפרטים, סימן שהכל בסדר.
