I greet and bless you,
I received with pleasure your letter, along with the book Otzar Leshon HaTannaim*[1], which you send me on behalf of Rav Dov Ludmir. You note that you wished to deliver it to me personally. It is certain that your intention was good, and our Sages observe[2]: "The Holy One, blessed be He, joins a good thought to the deed." It is therefore as if your mission had been fully accomplished. I thank you for going to the trouble.
On the occasion of the festival of Matzot*, the time of our freedom, which approaches, for us and for all of Israel, for good and for blessing, I extend to you and to all your family my wishes for a kosher and joyous Passover* festival, for a true liberation from all that impedes, materially and spiritually. With my respects and my blessing,

בנועם הנני לאשר מכתבו ביחד עם הספר "אוצר לשון התנאים" בשליחות ר' דב שי' לודמיר.
מה שכותב שבקש למסור הספר אישית, בודאי שמחשבתו רצוי', וכבר אמרו חכמינו ז"ל מחשבה טובה הקב"ה מצרפה למעשה, והרי זה כאילו קיים השליחות במילואה, ות"ח בעד הטרחה בזה.
ולקראת חג המצות, זמן חרותנו, הבא עלינו ועל כל ישראל לטובה ולברכה, הנני שולח ברכתי לו ולכל אשר לו לחג הפסח כשר ושמח ולחרות אמתית מכל ענינים המבלבלים בגשם וברוח.
