I bless you and greet you,
I am responding to your letter of 24 Nissan(1), which was written on your behalf, concerning the relations within your home(2). Very often, such a situation results from an undesirable proximity(3) — that is, one that occurs at a time when it is not permitted by our holy Torah*, Torah of life. Sometimes, this can also be the consequence of imperfect observance of these laws. For this reason, both you and your husband must verify all the details with a Rav* who renders Halachic* rulings, in order to adopt this conduct in the future — for nothing stands in the way of will(4).
It would be good to have the Mezuzot* of your home inspected to ensure they are all kosher*, in accordance with Halacha*. You yourself will uphold the positive custom of the daughters of Israel, which consists of setting aside Tzedakah* before kindling the candles, on the eve of Shabbat* and the festivals. במענה למכתב מכ"ד ניסן (כתוב עבורה) אודות היחסים בבית וכו'.
וכיון שלפעמים הכי קרובות מצב כזה בא כתוצאה מקירוב בלתי רצוי - בזמן שאין הקירוב מותר ע"פ תורתנו הק' תורת חיים - וכיון שלפעמים בא זה גם מאי השלימות בידיעת כל הדינים בזה, לכן עליהם - עלי' ועל בעלה שי' - לברר אצל רב מורה הוראה כל הפרטים בזה, ועל מנת להתנהג באופן זה מכאן ולהבא, ואין לך דבר העומד בפני הרצון.
ומהנכון אשר יבדקו את המזוזות בדירתם שתהיינה כולן כשרות כדין, והיא תשמור על מנהגן הטוב של בנות ישראל הכשרות להפריש לצדקה קודם הדלקת הנרות בכל ערב שבת וערב יום טוב.
