I greet you and bless you,

I have duly received your letter requesting my blessing, of 19/4. At a propitious moment, it will be read near the tomb of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, may his merit protect us, after you have indicated to me, precisely, in the Holy Tongue*, your name and that of your wife, as well as that of each of your mothers, since that is the customary way of mentioning one in prayer. With my blessing,

P.S.: Very often, the obstacle to Hashem's blessing for having children is imperfect observance of the principles and laws of family purity*(1) — Niddah*, examination of purity, immersion in a valid ritual bath. This(2) is the consequence of a lack of knowledge of all the details in this domain. You must therefore verify them with a Rav* who renders Halachic* rulings, so as to observe them in the proper manner in the future. Likewise, it would be good to have the Mezuzot* of your home inspected to ensure they are all kosher*, in accordance with Halacha*. You will do the same for your Tefillin* and, each day, before putting them on, you will set aside a few coins for Tzedakah*. Of course, you will give them without making it a vow.

My secretariat does not write in French. This is why this letter is written in the Holy Tongue. However, you may continue to write to me in French, as I read that language.

ובעת רצון יקרא על ציון כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, לאחרי שיודיע בדיוק בלשון הקדש שמו ושם זוגתו תחי' בצירוף שם האם של כל אחד מהם (שכן נוהגים להזכיר בתפלה).

כיון שלפעמים רבות , [ה]עכוב לברכת השם לזרעא חייא וקיימא, הוא האי דיוק ככל הדרוש בחוקי ודיני טהרת המשפחה (נדה, הפסק טהרה, טבילה במקוה כשרה וכו') כתוצאה מחסרון ידיעה בכל הפרטים בזה, ולכן עליהם לברר אצל רב מורה הוראה כל הפרטים בזה, ועל מנת לשמור עליהם ככל הדרוש מכאן ולהבא.

וכן מהנכון אשר יבדקו את המזוזות בדירתם שתהיינה כולן כשרות כדין, וכן אשר יבדקו את התפילין שלו, ובכל יום חול קודם הנחתם, להפריש פרוטות אחדות לצדקה, - כמובן שהפרשה לצדקה צריכה להיות בלי נדר.

במזכירות שלי אין כותבים צרפתית, ולכן בא המכתב בלשון הקדש, אבל הוא יכול לכתוב גם בצרפתית, כיון שקורא הנני שפה זו.
