of Jerusalem, may it be restored and rebuilt,

I greet and bless you,

I acknowledge receipt of your letter of 6 Iyar, with delay due to my many obligations, and I ask your forgiveness for this. You allude to the training of teachers. In the coming days I will contact in writing those of our responsible leaders in the Holy Land, may it be restored and rebuilt, who are concerned, in accordance with your proposal. May Hashem bring it about that, according to the formulation of our Sages[2]: "His Name be praised by them and by me."

I received in due course the file on the Admor HaZaken* prepared for the public religious schools, and I wrote about this to the person who sent it to me, Mr. Goldschmidt[3]. What comes in its time is fitting, and we are, in this instance, within a few days of the festival of Shavuot, the time of the giving of our Torah. As our Sages relate[4], it was given only after our children were designated as our guarantors. In this way, the commitment was made to give them a true education, in the fullest sense of the term, by studying Hashem's Torah and observing His Mitzvot daily. It is therefore a special festival for all those who dedicate themselves to this domain, especially when they do so with the requisite fervor and self-sacrifice. The merit of what is for the public comes to their aid. With my blessing, according to the traditional formulation, to receive the Torah with joy and in depth,

מאשר אני - אף כי באיחור זמן מרוב הטרדות, ואתו הסליחה - קבלת מכתבו מיום ו' אייר, בו כותב בנוגע קורס למורים. ובימים הקרובים אבוא בכתובים עם אלה מעסקנינו שבאה"ק ת"ו השייכים לזה, כהצעת כ'.

ויהי רצון שבסגנון חכמינו ז"ל - מנייהו ומנאי יתקלס שמא עילאה.

בעתו קבלתי בנועם החומר על אדמו"ר הזקן שהוכן בשביל בתי הספר המ"ד וכתבתי על דבר זה להמשלח מר גולדשמידט שי', ובודאי נתקבל מכתבי.

ודבר בעתו מה טוב, בהמצאנו ימים ספורים לפני חג השבועות, זמן מתן תורתנו, אשר כסיפור חכמינו ז"ל ניתנה התורה רק אחרי שעשינו בנינו ערבים בעדינו, זאת אומרת התחייבות חינוך אמתי במלוא מובן המלה, לימוד תורת ה' וקיום מצוות ה' בחיי יום-יום. והרי זה חג מיוחד לכל אלו שזכו להיות עוסקים בשטח האמור, בפרט במסירה ונתינה המתאימות, וזכות הרבים מסייעתם.
