Igrot Kodesh · Letter 9156
Volume 24 · Letter 126 · 18 Sivan 5726 · To: sein du Beth Ne’hama. J’ai bon espoir que votre requête recevra l’écho qui convie
By the grace of Hashem,
18 Sivan 5726,
Brooklyn, New York,
To Mrs. Nechama[1],
I bless and greet you,
Our distinguished friend, Rav Shlomo Aharon Kazarnovski, sent me a copy of the letter you sent to Eretz Yisrael in the framework of the Beit Nechama* project. I wish, by this letter, to express to you the great satisfaction I derived from reading it. I noted the warm Jewish sentiment expressed therein, as well as your firm stance in favor of strict Kashrut* observance within the Beit Nechama. I am hopeful that your request will receive the proper response, that all the good decisions will be acted upon in the best possible way, and that this institution will serve as a good example for all similar projects. This is particularly important because it concerns the education of the younger generation in Eretz Yisrael, who are the object of all hopes. Not only will these young people fulfill expectations and become the builders of this new generation, but, moreover, they will fill the void[2] created by the disappearance of several million — the best among the sons and daughters of the people of Israel — all these martyred souls whose blood Hashem shall avenge. It is of each of them that it is said[3]: "The candle of Hashem is the soul of man"[4], and these candles must not be extinguished, Heaven forbid. Their light must spread and penetrate the younger generation, who are their spiritual heirs.
All of this demands increased self-sacrifice from each one of us — from all those upon whom divine Providence has bestowed the immense merit of participating in the education of this younger generation. This education must therefore be imbued with the proper spirit, carried out with full awareness of the purpose of existence, so that all may fulfill their divine mission in the most complete manner. May Hashem grant success to your positive action, so that you may receive good fruits — "fruits of fruits" — from all your accomplishments, and derive great satisfaction therefrom, in good health, in happiness and joy. With my blessing for good tidings,
