I greet you and bless you,

After a long interruption, I received your letter of 17 Sivan, which arrived from our Holy Land — may it be built and established speedily. You write that you are engaged in studying and disseminating Chassidut* and you mention several questions of a practical nature. I shall try to address them below.

Regarding the matter of your son's studies, it is important that he pursue his learning with diligence and dedication, in a manner befitting a young man from a Chabad* family. The foundation must be Torah study combined with Chassidic* learning, and you must ensure he has fixed times each day for both. The world around him offers many distractions, but the inner strength drawn from Chassidut* provides the resilience needed to withstand them.

As for the communal matters you raise, I trust that the local Chabad* community is growing and that the initiatives undertaken are bearing fruit. It is especially important to reach out to those who are distant, as this is the core of the shlichus* — the sacred mission — of each and every one of us.

May Hashem grant you success in all your endeavors, materially and spiritually, and may you bring me good tidings. With my blessing,

אחרי הפסק ארוך נתקבל מכתבו מי"ז בסיון, מאה"ק ת"ו.

במה שכותב שרבים הביעו פליאתם שלא התראה קודם נסיעתו מכאן, יכול להוסיף גם פליאתי על זה, אבל ידוע מאמר חכמינו ז"ל אין צועקין על העבר. ברם יש גם ענין של הוה בהאמור, שהרי כל ישראל חברים, ובמדה יתרה אלה שיש גם ק[י]רבה משפחתית ביניהם, וביחוד אצל אלה שנוסף על האמור עוד יש להם נקודה משותפת היא הדאגה להנוער שלנו בכלל, והנוער באה"ק ת"ו בפרט. שלכן צריך להדגיש במיוחד שהעדר הפגישה לפני נסיעתו מכאן לא תגע בהאמור.

בהתענינות קראתי בסיום מכתבו אשר נמצא בעיצומן של הכנות [ל]פתיחת מקום קליטה לנוער מסוג האמור. ויהי רצון מהשי"ת המשגיח על כל או"א בהשגחה פרטית - ובנוגע לאה"ק הרי מקרא מלא דיבר הכתוב, ארץ אשר עיני ה"א בה מראשית השנה ועד אחרית שנה - שהמפעל יתברך ויצליח לכוון אל המטרה האמתית והפנימית, כיוון נוער האמור במסילה העולה בית א-ל להיות ראויים לתואר הניתן בתורתנו תורת חיים לכל אחד מבני ישראל - "בנים אתם לה"א", וככל פירושי חכמינו ז"ל בזה.

בכבוד ובברכה לבשורות טובות בכל האמור, ובבקשה למסור פ"ש לאביו שי' בצירוף תמי' אשר כו"כ חדשים שלא שמעתי ממנו.
